101 Favorite Stories from the Bible

My kids love this book of Bible stories. It has gorgeous pictures, a couple of discussion questions each day, and a simple/short story. We really enjoyed this resource this year.

We have used this book for all three of my kids as they work through their Language lessons, but they also love to read it independently. The stories give them good understanding of the scriptures and the questions make them think deeper on God’s word. We also love the depictions of the key part in each story!

Our family loves this little book! I love that we can use it as a little family devotion time for our elementary aged daughter and our toddler son, and then our daughter turns around and pairs it with her language arts lessons! Her favorite part is attempting to re-draw the picture shown or do her own rendering of art work. The stories are the perfect length to keep everyone's attention but still provides enough detail to get the story across.

We have really enjoyed reading this in language lessons 3. The pictures are colorful and the stories are good, short summaries. I do think they could be a bit longer though.

We love reading the stories together and discussing after. This is such a great addition to our language arts book.

These stories helped my daughter understand the chronology of the Bible. They were simple and easy enough for an 8-9 year old to read.

101 Bible stories has become a family favorite! We used this book alongside Language Lessons for a Living Education with our three youngest children. We have enjoyed it so much that we refer many parents to use this for a family devotional!

This is a wonderful children's devotional. Meaningful lessons, beautiful artwork, and an excellent pairing for Life Lessons curriculum!

My daughter and I loved this book. We used it in conjunction with the Language Lessons for a Living Education curriculum and my daughter was always excited when she was supposed to read this book for her lesson. That being said, I did take off one star because in the story of Sodom it very plainly states, "One big sin of Sodom was that men married men and women married women." Now I'm not one to water down the Word and certainly that is in the Bible, but my daughter was not ready to hear that message. She had never been exposed to the topic of homosexuality and reading about it in a book she's supposed to use for language lessons was not my ideal way of broaching the subject with her. Most children's accounts say something to the effect of the people of Sodom being wicked without elaborating on their sexuality. I think this particular passage should either be more generalized or there should be more of an effort made to let parents know how this particular story is phrased so parents can decide if it's an appropriate time to talk about sexuality and marriage with their child or not. Other than that, this book was lovely to read and even lovelier to look at with its gorgeous, conversation-starting pictures.
