    For ages 8-10

    Your fourth-grade level student will love exploring marine biology, chemistry and more using Adventures in the Scientific Method, Level 4 of Master Books award-winning Let’s Talk Science homeschool series.  They will also learn about worldview and how important it is in how we interpret evidence!

    Through conversational lessons, hands-on experimentation, observation, and documentation, students encounter God’s design as they explore matter, elements, the carbon cycle, measurements, worldview, classification, the ocean, tide pools, coral reefs, algae, seagrass, and marine life.

    Lessons can be completed in approximately 30 minutes. This one-year course is designed to be studied five times a week.

    Going deeper into creation, Level 4 of the Let’s Talk Science series takes students through the basics of the scientific method. In this beautiful, full-color science curriculum, homeschool students discover God’s wisdom in chemistry and marine biology. Students will explore systems of measurements, elements of the periodic table, and various marine plants and animals, all while diving deeper into God’s Word and His character.

    A continuation of our science journey with Ben and Hannah, Let’s Talk Science 4: Adventures in the Scientific Method is an interactive and easy-to-use science course. Your student’s faith and curiosity will be encouraged!

    Along the way, they’ll discover Hidden Treasures that teach them more about their relationship with God as they encounter His wisdom, power, and majesty on display in creation. The learning process in Adventures in the Scientific Method includes:

    • Conversational lessons, “apply it” activities, lab reports, and Bible memory verses
    • Vocabulary words bolded throughout and a Science Notebook students create
    • Conducting experiments and building model biomes

    Course Objectives:

    Students completing this course will:

    • Explore elements of chemistry and marine biology, including the scientific method, lab reports, measurements, matter, the periodic table of elements, mixtures, solutions, chemistry application, tides, tide pools, algae, seagrass, coral reefs, and marine life.
    • Uncover how our worldview impacts the study of science and learn a simple question to discern observational science from historical science.
    • Learn how to apply the scientific method and create their own lab reports.
    • Discover that science teaches many lessons about God and our relationship with Him.

    Compile a unique Science Notebook as they document what they’ve learned and share it with others.

    This science course starts a little slow, but in the best way. It sets a solid foundation to understand the Scientific Method. My son is enjoying the experiments and putting his observation skills to work. He is developing a great understanding of research and hypothesizing.

    Loved the colorful pictures and easy to prep experiments! We did this as a multi-age curriculum and found that was easy to adapt to multiple grade levels. Wish it made higher grade levels!
    A wonderful time spent together learning science

    My 10 year old son and I have thoroughly enjoyed this level of science for this school year! The last science we started with was really dry, but we have both appreciated the conversational style to sit down together to read the lessons. He has had SO much fun with the biome projects and the engagement with the academy videos. I wish this series could continue longer since he's older, but we're grateful for the wonderful time spent together learning science! I REALLY love how each week's lesson brings the scripture in, and so often it ties right along with what we've studied for our own Bible devotional time. What a blessing!

    Science has always been a struggle in our homeschool journey because every science curriculum I could find was boring and dry. I struggled to be interested in it myself, let alone make it interesting for my kids. I discovered this series last year and I'm so bummed I didn't find it earlier. We did Adventures on Planet Earth last year and we're almost finished with Adventures in the Scientific Method. We have loved it! I have a 3rd grader and a 5th grader this year, and they were both able to understand and participate perfectly. This book presents material clearly and it gives enough information for my kids to learn and become familiar with different aspects of science without overloading them. I know they'll revisit all of this in the higher grades and I'm confident that this curriculum has given them a solid introduction to science that will serve as a good foundation for their continued learning as they grow and mature. My kids loved the conversational presentation of the text and they loved building their science notebooks. I, personally, appreciated the intentionality the the authors showed in applying the Bible to science and pulling together useful life principles in each chapter. I feel like a lot of Christian curriculums don't do this well, so I truly appreciated that. I'm honestly disappointed that there's not another book in the series! Now I have to find something new for next year!

    Honestly, at this point let me be honest. My son hated school; until I started using Master Books. My son was 10 when we started this year, now 11. He is enjoying this book and is thriving. It's perfect for the ages set name even for those who need to slower or even just review the subjects!
