The adventures of Gideon and his beloved teddy bear, Mr. Snuggly, make learning about science delightful for your kindergarten student. This homeschool curriculum leads your little one in learning about taste, hearing, and discovering things about God and themselves.

Adventures in the World Around Me Level K offers a simple way for young students to begin to understand science and the methods we use to explain it. Along the way, students will marvel at the greatness of God and His amazing creation! This course includes:

  • Engaging stories from Gideon about his learning adventures
  • Simple activities and crafts to strengthen the student’s understanding of the topics
  • Bible verses to connect real-world concepts to biblical truths

This interactive science curriculum gives students the opportunity to stop and answer questions in the text. The course explores questions such as:

  • What are the five senses?
  • How can I take care of myself and God’s creation around me?
  • What is a habitat?
  • When did God create the sun, moon, and stars?
  • Why do we have daytime and nighttime?
  • How do fossils form?

Students will be able to answer these questions and many more as they investigate their way through God’s creation. Let’s Talk Science: Adventures in the World Around Me will encourage your student’s curiosity with hands-on fun that is easy for you to lead.

Engaging and fun
Review by MamaLlama
Follow the story of little boy Gideon and stuffie Mr. Snuggly as they explore God's creation!
Pros: Very engaging. The stories are well written and the visuals are charming. I tend to steer clear of anything that does not look like it has updated its art or format since the 90s. This is clearly modern.
The hands on application and experiments were great for my student's learning style.
Based on the bible and creation science.
It does a great job integrating the bible into the lessons.
Cons:
Some reading sections were a bit long for my child's attention span
Some of the lessons felt super short and may not have 'stuck' if he was not already interested in science
Science!
Review by Jesinia
God centered science!! This is truly an amazing blend of science and scripture. People have taken God out of science and this puts Him back in His rightful place and it blends beautifully!
Fun simple resource
Review by AbbyE
I bought this as part of a kindergarten pack. Of everything it was my favorite and even the bigger siblings joined in
Cute book
Review by LB
I really wanted to like this book! It’s so cute and simple. My kiddo had zero interest in listening to all the reading out loud. And we read a lot in our family.

I was hoping there would have been more simple science experiments in it!
Our favorite workbook to date!
Review by Hannah
My kids are very hands on at their current ages, so this one was a hit! So many fun activities and very informative yet engaging for their age. I love that MB teaches how God is the mastermind & creator of ALL things, this book instructs that beautifully. Highly recommend!
Loved it
Review by Lucia
Colorful, clear, and very approachable for any family to use, especially with activities that only use common every day items to help demonstrate the lesson. At times I found it to be a little bit wordy, and a little bit light in regards to the information taught, but that’s probably perfect for most 4-6 year olds especially when new to science. Definitely a very easy to do curriculum, it doesn’t take long to finish each lesson, and it’s very easy to fit into any homeschool schedule. Just plan on 2 days a week (or even 1 day a week) of science lessons. It’s definitely been one of our favorite textbooks this year. Everything that you would want covered in a beginning science course is covered in this textbook. All in all, I highly recommend it! My 4 year old, nonspeaking autistic son and I loved it. Even my husband enjoyed listening in on our lessons when able. The science was fun and glorifying to God!
My Daughter and I Loved this
Review by Great intro to Science!
We used 3 of the 4 Masterbooks Kindergarten books and this one was definitely our favorite. It was the perfect intro to science concepts. It had some small experiments, but a lot of arts and crafts science too. My daughter loved this curriculum.
Easy to Use
Review by TisforTeacherMama
Very easy to use if you have zero teaching experience. It is more of a listen to learn not experiment or experience to learn. We did continue to use it as it tied everything back to the Bible which is why I purchased it to begin with. Someone with no teaching experience could use this curriculum easily.
Love it
Review by Victoria
This is super simple and super cute. My daughter loves it.
Great lessons
Review by Gin
I thought this book was pretty good but unfortunately, my child did not love it…. She could not focus when we read the lessons…
But she really loved the experiment that she got blindfolded and tasted different things, when we covered our senses toward the beginning of the book.
