Customer Reviews
While the focus of this book is American history, it also includes a lot of information about how our government is set up, branches of our military, and topics that come up in the course of history like the impeachment process, and differences between “big government” and more conservative political views. Mrs. O’Dell does well explaining such things as anti war protests, economic crises, war involvement, etc. at an appropriate level for elementary students.
The audiobook (read by the author) makes it easy to listen in the car or during quiet activities, although I do like having the textbook on hand for the maps, illustrations and photos, and to reference and dig deeper into some of the text. It’s also great to listen to the audiobook for review and gaining greater familiarity with the information!
This book covers the time period of the early 1900s through 2016. This audio book is a great resource to go along with the America’s Story 3 book. You want to use the book as well because the photos and maps are wonderful to see.
