Theology for Littles
Review byJC
I love that they expanded this series. It is good theology explained in simple terms, but it is NOT watered down. Children can understand more than they are often given credit for, and faith is simple to them.
This particular book deals with who Jesus is and what He did. It deals with His place in the trinity, His humanity, His display of divine power, His mercy, His ultimate sacrifice, and His second coming. I will note that although the emphasis is on Christ's sacrifice, I think it could be more clear that although the people crucified Jesus, it was His choice to permit them and to die. I would not say it is incorrect the way it was phrased, just incomplete. So that is a conversation worth having as you read through with your child.

Engaging introduction to Jesus
Review byBuildingontheRock
Jesus is a wonderful and thorough introduction for children. The pictures are inviting and engaging. The language is simple but clear so that young readers can read for themselves who Jesus is. Scripture addresses are included on the bottom of each page for easy reference for further study by parents or older children. This whole series is a quality addition to any home or church library and would also serve as gifts with eternal impact.

Hallelujah, what a Savior!
Review byJoyfulMommy
The books in this series have been a springboard to some great conversations with our children. Deep truths are explained in a conversational style, at a level even young children can relate to, and I am glad they have added to the series! I love how the author presents Jesus as a real Person in history, but as truly God - a member of the Trinity. The gospel is presented from the fall to the resurrection, all focusing on the life of Christ and showing various aspects of His character and what that means for a believer. It ends with a call to share with others while we eagerly await His return!

Theology on a young child’s level.
Review byLaceeC
Theology on a young child’s level. This Big Thoughts For Little Thinkers book teaches about Jesus from the beginning to the end of His life and what it means to us here on Earth. I appreciate that each page has verses listed to back up the claims on the page. The pictures are colorful and engaging - it keeps even my 2 year old interested.

A compelling introduction to who Jesus is.
Review byKathleen C
The book focuses entirely on the person and work of Jesus Christ—His divinity, His incarnation, His death and resurrection, and His role as Savior and Lord. The author introduces children to the idea that Jesus is not just a good man or a moral teacher, but God Himself. Children are introduced to big theological truths like the Trinity and the gospel in a way they can understand, especially with the help of an adult reader. The illustrations are warm and engaging, helping to reinforce the concepts visually. The drawings help keep young readers attentive and provide visual cues that make the ideas more memorable. This book helps lay a strong foundation for understanding and loving Jesus.

Amazing book, my children liked it!
Review byAmy
Big Thoughts for Little Thinkers: Jesus is a wonderful way to help young children understand who Jesus is and why He matters. The message is clear, age-appropriate, and full of truth. Just one small request—please draw the children with five fingers instead of four. I always find myself adding that extra finger!

Effective Resource
Review bySantina
Big Thoughts for Little Thinkers Jesus is a great addition in the series and explains the story and theology of Jesus in an age appropriate and understandable way. The Bible references at the bottom of each page are a great way to involve older children as they can read and then look up the corresponding Bible verses. This would make a great addition to a morning basket or to read and discuss two or three pages each day.

"the life of Jesus in a nutshell"
Review byMichelle C.
According to my 10-year-old, this book is “a really good way to tell about the life of Jesus in a nutshell.” He said it perfectly! This book discusses who Jesus is and why He came to Earth. It goes through His birth, temptation, miracles, death, resurrection and more. I really appreciate that it doesn’t just end with the resurrection. It mentions the 500 witnesses, His ascension, and Pentecost. It concludes by encouraging kids to share the Good News with others.
There are several Scripture references on each page that equip the parent to dive deeper into each topic. The illustrations are colorful and engaging without being too busy. This is a perfect little book for young learners, and it’s packed with Biblical truth. I’m so glad this book has been added to the series!

We have enjoyed this edition of Joey Allens series. This is written so well, describes Jesus life, love, sacrifice, resurrection and the need for us to share with others. The pictures are so colorful, my kids enjoyed reading this. It is written well, at a level that is perfect for kids to understand. We have loved this series and this one is just as great as the others in the series.
