The Master's Class High School Biology (student text) used alongside the Master's Class High School Biology Teacher Guide work together to bring the wonder of biblical creation and science together for homeschool students. This homeschool curriculum with labs begins with a review of chemical principles needed for biology, including the biology of water, and concludes with human origins.

This course provides important training and practice in developing skills involved in the study of biology, including observing and recognizing interactions and interdependencies of organisms in their natural environment, the use of a light microscope, dissection skills, and insights and recent advances in modern biology.

Through this study of biology, your high school student will learn how we are created in God’s image with an eternal destiny rather than being the sum product of natural laws acting upon atoms and molecules. This course reveals the variations in humans today had their roots in the DNA of two humans (Adam and Eve) and give glory to God for this wonder of life.

Course Objectives:

  • Investigate the core concepts of classical and modern biology
  • Become familiar with the meaning of key terms in biology
  • Explore the fundamental concepts of cell biology and important recent developments
  • Study the development of classical genetics and modern concepts in the expression of DNA and how it varies with age and changing environmental conditions
  • Learn the coordination and maintenance of the parts of an organism
  • Study the variety of life forms and how their roles are integrated in an ecosystem
  • Explore varied views of the origin of life and how the biblical narrative is consistent with what is observed in the study of biology
  • Conduct laboratory procedures that develop important skills and illustrate important concepts
  • Write lab reports each week to further develop writing skills in a scientific context

This is a one-year course with two full semesters, helping the student fulfill one credit of biology, which includes the lab. High school transcripts will list the course as Biology with Labs.

Essential for the course
Review by BuildingontheRock
The teacher guide contains the grading sheet, worksheets, daily schedule, supply list, tests, quizzes and answer keys needed to complete this course. 25 labs included. When the suggested schedule is followed, one lesson will be completed - along with a lab - each week, with intermittent exams throughout the course. The week of the exam, 4 days are scheduled for review before the exam is scheduled for completion, teaching the student appropriate study techniques. Per the course’s self-description, it requires vigorous reading. Worksheet questions are designed for not only memory recall but also reasoning skills, so encouragement from the teacher to the student may be required for completion of these assignments.
Biology with a Biblical Worldview
Review by Barbara D
This course was well written to start with the very basics of the chemistry of a cell and them builds from there to DNA and all the parts of life. I was glad to see it constantly honoring God for His design for life and not how we evolved from cells over millions of years. We are created with care and purpose.
I also want to add that our homeschool co-op used this course this year and really liked it. They did the labs as a group.
The student book has all the information and the Teacher Guide has all the worksheets, test, and exams as well as suggested schedule and answer keys. The worksheets were a lot about finding specific answers whereas the lab sheets were very open like a journal. (There is an example and instructions on how to do lab notes in the T.G.)
A very open and go book that helps the student learn not only Biology, but how to start taking on their own education. They are not dependent on their teacher for this course.

Easy to use
Review by SB
The Biology Teacher’s Guide contains a helpful 180 day / 36 week schedule, as well as daily exercises, lab report forms, quizzes, tests, and the answer key. Each week usually covers one lesson and involves completing two worksheets, an experiment, a lab report and a quiz or test. This workbook appears to be straightforward and easy to follow.

You Must Get This
Review by Candice
Teacher Guides may be something you don't necessarily need AS MUCH with some curricula, but this is not one of them! It is open-and-go: all planned out with additional resources. Many say the Teacher Guides can almost be used as workbooks and I whole-heartedly agree. You would be doing your student and yourself a disservice not purchasing both! Excellent!
Excellent Teacher Guide
Review by Candice
I love how well-organized this teacher guide is and that it gives you all the worksheets, tests, and schedules you need to pretty much open and go! It just makes it so easy! As someone else mentioned, this is almost like a student workbook, to me, and it's perfect for what I need!
