Let God Fulfill His Purpose in You: Carissa’s Advice to Homeschool Moms

Hi fellow homeschool mom! My name is Carissa and I am currently homeschooling 4 children. We have been using Master Books #ProBible homeschool curriculum since 2018. What about you?

Today I am writing to share with you the ways this curriculum company has helped me and my family to thrive in this essential work of discipling our families in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

Fulfilling My Purpose

In some seasons, doubt has crept in, and I begin to wonder if my inadequacies will fail my children. I have found comfort and encouragement in this verse: “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me." Psalm 57:2 (ESV)

With this truth about who God is for me, I have peace. I know as a mother and home educator I am in His purpose. I know that with His strength I can mother my children in a way that glorifies Him. Using Master Books resources helps me fulfill that purpose. I feel better equipped to teach and disciple my children than I ever have before.

Answered Prayers

As a family, we have used the Where Faith Grows homeschool Bible curriculum designed for elementary students. I am grateful for the support the course gives me as the parent. It helps me nurture my children and teach them how to grow in their own faith.

The fact that every single subject I teach them has the biblical worldview built into it is a really big deal to me. 2 Corinthians 10:5 instructs us to "demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." Master Books helps our family hold more thoughts captive to Christ.

I have seen the fruits of this in our home as more and more of our conversations have become kingdom-minded and center on the Lord. This fruit is a direct answer to prayers that I have said over my children and family for many years.

Encouragement & Support

I love the support and encouragement I find in the Master Books community. The teaching tips offered in the Master Books app have helped me in many ways.

Randy Pratt, the president of Master Books, often says, "Curriculum is a tool, and you are the carpenter." That may seem simple, but I needed to hear it and hear it often! It has been so freeing to me and has really blessed my family.

I also appreciate the focus on growth hacking our homeschool and not being afraid to try new ideas and adjust as needed. I've never seen a curriculum company pour so much time into the parents, it really does feel like a family, and I am grateful to have the Master Books team rooting for every one of us!
