This is a wonderful devotional that really makes you check your heart and ponder about the holiness of God. The author focuses on very important topics and truly helps to understand Psalm 119 in a practical way. It’s also made so beautifully and pleasant to an eye. I enjoyed it a lot.

This is a detailed study on the 119th Psalm. This psalm is an intimate prayer by King David. It is broken down into pieces and can be studied verse by verse or section by section, whichever you choose. The author has provided instructions for both.
It is a deeply personal study, intent on helping the reader develop a heart that reflects God. From the first few verses of this passage, I’m reminded that we are to serve the LORD, to be a blessing to others, and to be wholly devoted to God. Some of the passages may be difficult, but only because we have areas that God is refining in our hearts and lives. This book really helps us look at various areas of our lives to ensure that each area is totally surrendered to God. This is a book that I recommend going through slowly, as there is valuable information in each section that should be allowed to sink in. This chapter of scripture is so wonderfully full of treasures.
As always, God’s Word should be our foundation, and books like this a tool to take a deeper look.

This book is such a wonderful way to learn to slow down and process what you are reading. Our fast pace life has taught us to be in such a hurry in everything that we do. I find it hard to step out from that lifestyle and really pause to reflect on what I am reading. A commentary on each verse helps a lot to think deeper about it and to ponder how it can be applied to your life.

Developing a Heart for God by Ron Auch is a beautiful verse-by-verse devotional on Psalm 119 that is meant to help you develop a deeper intimacy with God through prayer and meditating on Scripture. David was the author of this Psalm and was called a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22). This book has radically helped to reinvigorate and grow my prayer life, seeking to be most satisfied in Him.

This is one of those books that you keep out at home at all times and always have an extra copy to give away.

Developing a Heart for God has been such an awesome addition to my morning time. The author breaks down Psalm 119 verse by verse, offering part commentary and part devotion with a focus on prayer and meditation on scripture. This book highly exceeded my expectations and has added depth to my Bible study and prayer life. It is something I look forward to reading each day.

The imagery throughout is beautiful and engaging, without detracting from the text. There is a nice balance of white space and images.

I downloaded the ePub format for my iPad, and the pictures and graphics all came through beautifully with no formatting issues.

I highly recommend this book as either a digital download for yourself, or a printed copy as a gift.
