When I started this course I was really surprised by the format. I thought it was going to be too simple--- not at all. I'm loving the deep questions its bringing out of my kids and that they are growing in Christ while learning history.

This teachers guide turns the Thinking Outside the Box and Big Book of History into an involved curriculum. It is set up like a daily newspaper, with daily paragraphs of additional information and questions and assignments to report on each subject. A fun and unique spin on learning history.

Good Overview of World History

I bought this downloadable e-book guide to use with my 5th grader this year as an overview of world history from a Biblical worldview and I'm enjoying relearning world history, too! The schedule is simple, but I like it that way because it allows us to speed up or slow down as we see fit. It's also easy to add in extras if we find documentaries or online videos to watch or check out library books on related topics. In the past 9 years we've been homeschooling, we've used curriculum kits with lots of extras included (spent a lot of money, too) but I find that the simplicity of MB curriculum works well for us to add if needed - but not feel overwhelmed and the price is very homeschool-budget-friendly. The downloadable e-book teacher's guide is great because I can print what she needs for this year but also print more in the future for my next child who needs it in a few years. (We use a black/white laser printer to keep costs low.) Once my daughter completes the assigned page, she adds it to her history notebook so the printable pages from the guide work well with anything extra we choose to add.
