Secular textbooks now fill our classrooms, while the Ten Commandments have been removed from their walls. Is this the vision held by those who worked to found this nation? What faith did our founding fathers truly believe and practice in their daily lives, and what does it really matter for us? Were they God-fearing, Bible-believing Christians or simply enlightened Deists, Transcendentalists, and Unitarians?

Today the debate rages on, becoming a polarizing cultural issue, the outcome of which will lead to a vastly different nation in the years ahead. This probing study:
Examines the facts that have created debate for years among educators, scholars, and historians
Studies the intimate papers, diaries, and letters of the founders themselves
Helps solve this mystery of our nation's past so that we can best guide its future.
Meticulously documented, Faith of Our Founding Fathers by best-selling author Tim LaHaye details the Christian principles of these early Americans, and notes how the argument for the separation of church and state has led us to the vast secularization of our culture. Studying the original writings of those who shaped this nation will help Christians present the case for renewing the former vision for this great country.

Proof that our nation was founded on Christian prinicples.
Review byKathleen
This book offers many points of proof that the overwhelming majority of the Founding Fathers were raised in and believed the Christian Faith. The author studies the intimate papers, diaries and letters of the founders themselves. When you read the writing of these men, there is no doubt that their beliefs in Christ were held to in all of their decisions regarding establishing the United States of America.

For all American Patriots
Review byAudrey525
THIS BOOK NEEDS TO BE READ BY EVERY TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOT! If you are still unsure if you should homeschool your kids, the stats and facts presented by Tim LaHaye about what is being taught in public schools (and even some private schools) will not only help solidify your decision, but provide further evidence for why parents need to be taking an active role in their child’s education. American history, and even some world history, has been intentionally edited by modern “educators” to indoctrinate our children with the religion of the secular humanists while the truth about how and more importantly why America became a nation has been all but forgotten. Tim does a great job of reminding us just how important faith was to our founding fathers as they started this once great nation and why it should still be just as important for all of us today.

Perfect Adult or High School Read
Review byLexie
This book is perfect for either adults or high school students to read. It reveals the moral decay that has become prominent in our country especially in regards to public schooling. While it explains in detail the reason we are at this point in this day in age, it also gives credit to other points like TV and movies. I really enjoyed the specific examples that were used throughout this book to make the author's points (one I had never heard about was a group of Christian fathers who were not allowed to use the Fifth Amendment when in court for sending their children to Christian schools, yet in that same time period, admitted communists were allowed to use the Fifth Amendment). The book goes on to discuss time periods in the formation of our country and how that relates to today. A detailed description is provided about how the Constitution was formed and Biblical formation of colleges and education systems. Washington, Franklin, Adams, Morris, Sherman, Hamilton, and Mason are each given a section by which you will find a general biography relating their contribution to the formation of our country. The following chapter does reveal more Christian men who were pivotal in our country's formation, most of whom I had never heard of. This book is filled with quotations (with references) that help the reader understand the context better. The final chapter in this book lists many things the reader can do to be more involved, which is why I will have this on my children's high school reading list.

Very Good
Review byAbbie
I could not help but think that this should be used as additional reading with one or more of the courses already provided: Civics and Constitution, Christian Heritage: For you they signed, Freedom: History of Western Liberty, or Biographies of Faith.
This covers a topic that is a must study for students and parents alike

Great read
Review byAshley May
This book was a great read. It gives you a great picture of the heritage of our nation. The men in the book risked everything for what they believed in God and what he gave us. Many of them did not see the evidence of that. It also shows first hand and gives us quotes on how these men took God's word and used them to start this nation. And Tim Lahaye also pointed out that we need to stay on the path to succeed as a country. This book touches the heart and blesses the soul! It is a great reader if you want to teach the founding fathers to your students but also a great independent reader.

Timely
Review byDustie
What a timely read! This is a lovely picture of the heritage of our nation that has been stripped from modern text books. It is because of the faith of our founding fathers that we have the freedoms we often take for granted. These men risked everything because they believed God gave us liberty. Many of them never got to see the fruits of their labor.
I am currently reading this in preparation to study America’s Story with my children. It is an interesting and detailed read, containing records of statements by founding fathers, as well as the history of our nation when it comes to freedom of religion or lack thereof. I recommend this book for high schoolers or adults who are interested in the legacy of faith in our nation.
I received the digital version of this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion.
