Unique and inspiring course!

Foundations of Worship
I am not as familiar with all the great hymns and have been looking for a study to use in our homeschool. When I found out about Foundations in Worship I was so excited! This is just what I was looking for.
I love that this course introduces many great hymns and provides my family the chance to study them closely. My favorite features are “The Story Behind the Hymn” and “Ties to Scripture”. Learning about the hymn writers and their inspiration has been a great opportunity to discuss faith and how it impacts our lives. The ties to scripture sections make the words of the hymn even more powerful after seeing exactly what scripture lines up with the lyrics. I also find this is a great opportunity to discuss how we can analyze lyrics of more modern Christian songs and practice spotting what is based on truth and what is just feel good music. This section is so valuable!
This is a great course to learn about these beautiful hymns and grow in our faith!

Well rounded & comprehensive
Review byLaura
Hymns are so rich in theology & passion. This curriculum is a great way to dive in deep into the meaning behind each of these timeless songs. Your student will learn about the author as well as dig into the scriptures behind the words. Theological concepts found in the songs are also discussed & defined. Multiple ways of learning are incorporated which helps reinforce the lessons taught. This is such a well rounded & comprehensive study that you will never sing the hymns the same way again.
I greatly appreciate receiving a free digital version in exchange for my honest review.

An underutilized and much needed elective
Review byCandice
This book is so fun! All Masterbooks are beautiful, and this is no exception. The hymn selection is decently broad. It has history of each hymn, worldview discussion, and related scriptures. Each hymn is studied for a week. There are also questions/pen and paper activities and copy work of related scriptures. This is meant to be used in jr high/high school.
I really love how this unique course will help a student learn deep truths expressed in the hymns. Well done!

Wonderful Book
Review byJulie
I love everything about this book. There are twenty-eight lessons with each lesson covering at least five days, so this is a full year's worth of lessons and good for one credit. I love hymns and look forward to introducing some of the songs that I grew up with to my son. Everything is tied to scripture and there is a variety of things to do in the lessons. I think I want to go through it myself. LOL! I don't think you can go wrong with purchasing this book.

Great curriculum
Review byAshley
This curriculum is for grade 7 to 12 and has 28 lessons. An answer key is also at the end of the book. The hymns are from the 1500s and 1800 time period. I really like that they have an emoji activity that allows the kids to tell how they feel about the hymns. One thing I really like is that it has a biblical message in the hymns it teaches. It includes copy writing scriptures. After each lesson for the day there are questions to be answered. I can't wait to start using this with my kiddos. I received this ebook for my honest opinion.

LOVE THIS
Review byLexie
I was so excited to see this come out that I couldn't wait to see it myself. I know so many people want curriculum that uses the KJV of the Bible, and this hymn study does just that. This curriculum is designed for 7-12 grade, but our family is studying it 'family style' as I feel the younger children will also benefit from hearing the rich history of many of the hymns we sing in church. Each hymn is from the 1500s to 1800s time period - with many ones that are familiar and even some that are not. Some hymns have upwards of 8 days studying that hymn and some have just a few days. The hymn verses are presented, children asked to listen to them, and then identify words they aren't familiar with. Then the story behind the hymn is presented followed by questions to answer. The hymn is then tied to scripture with many opportunities for the student to look up specific references. A variety of activities follow, ranging from crossword puzzles to word searches to emoji responses to match to how you feel with the verse. Overall I am very impressed with this option to learn more about hymns alongside my family.
