    Starting right from the letter by Barbara Bush, to the preface, to the story, this is a page turner. This story encompasses brief historical information as well as a great point of view from soldiers in an engaging love story. I highly recommend it!

    This book is one of those books I could not put down, my oldest is 4, so this is not exactly morning battery l basket material for him yet but I wanted to read it for the future. I love this book! I think it included such great detail of family life during war times and helped me to have a great appreciation for our soldiers.

There are pictures inside of the book that my kids will be excited to see.     I absolutely loved this true story of love and sacrifice written by Joe Bonsall of Oak Ridge Boys fame. I read most of the book with tears in my eyes as I was taken back to World War II era America and then relived the long-lasting effects that the war had on this sweet couple. Their inspirational story isn't one I'll soon forget.

    I really enjoy reading about World War II and this story did not disappoint! It’s the love story of GI Joe, who bravely fought at D-Day, and his wife Lillie, who also served our country during the war. Their story was full of sacrifice and pain, but the overall themes of love, faith and faithfulness were inspiring.
