Now you can explore the origins, purposes, and destinies of the nations strictly from a biblical perspective. In Dr. Henry Morris’, God and the Nations, you will find a comprehensive study of the history of God’s dealings with the nations — past, present, and future.

This is truly the untold story of the world. Many volumes have been written about individual nations, of course, as well as regional and world histories, but even these are rarely written from the biblical perspective. Filled with Morris' well-documented Scriptural research, you will find in these easy-to-read pages the answers to the following questions and more!

  • What are the two principles mandates God gave all nations?
  • Why did God choose Israel as His elect nation, and why did He even need an elect nation?
  • Why does God put down one nation and establish another?
  • What about the law of God? Does it apply to Christians today?
  • Can any nation in the world in our day be described as truly seeking the God of the Bible and His Christ?
  • Should the prophecies about Christ’s coming and God’s wrath being poured out on the nations be taken literally or figuratively?
  • What form of government does God call for on the part of today’s nations?

Morris examines the chosen nation of the Jewish people, and the Gentile nations, seeing how they fit together and gives a solid biblical framework for the importance and inclusion of each in God's major narrative for mankind. Moving from the Dominion Mandate, he looks at the Missionary Mandate, and God's intention that all nations be reached with the Gospel. His added thoughts and insights to the urgency of this mandate will inspire your faith and devotion to live with intention to fulfill it.

God and the Nations is a biblical doctrine of the nations and a must read for every Christian! Find where you and your nation fit in God's timeline.

Nations are in the news every day. Wars, rumors of wars, natural disasters, trade deals, and political intrigue fill cable news reports and the internet. Nations are the news. In this timely book, Henry Morris takes us behind today’s headlines into the pages of God’s Word to see the origins of the nations, what’s going on today in the nations, and where it’s all headed. This book will help you understand God’s plan for the nations of this world and will give you the much-needed comfort and reassurance that God is in control.

God and the Nations
Review by Dustie
This is a quick dive into the history of the world from a biblical viewpoint. I am in awe of God’s love, grace, and glorious creativity. What a wonderful reminder that God has a plan for the nations of the world and that all nations are created with purpose. This is a great book to have on the shelf for reference. I recommend it for older teenagers and adults.
Excellent Resource
Review by Heather
Henry Morris, founder of Institute for Creation Research, compiled this wonderful book that helps readers visualize the unfolding of God's plan through past and present civilizations. It's a wealth of historic and modern time (having been first published in 2002) information focusing on the dynamics of creation, nations, governments, God's timeline, and things to come.

Esther 4:13-14 are verses that come to mind when reading this well-written book: "...Do not think in your heart you will escape in the king's palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" God will use nations and God will use individuals of His choosing. If He chooses you, will you obey and receive His blessing? God's purpose will always be fulfilled no matter who fights against it. May we stand firm on His Word knowing that even with trials come, it's in the strength of the LORD that we can do so.
Great summary of the nations of the world
Review by Michael
This book is a great resource for understanding how the nations of the world came to be. I learned a lot when reading this book. I liked how the book went back and looked at different people in the Bible to show how a nation came from them and how the current (at the time the book was authored) nations came to be. I also enjoyed reading about how nations are mandated to have dominion but was interesting was no nation has truly held it's dominion according to what God originally desired. Each nation though has a responsibility toward fulfilling God's will. A couple of points I would recommend for books like this would be: 1. The book makes a lot of claims about how all the nations of the world originated and therefore it would be good to have more references to other sources that show this as well (even secular sources). 2. This book is really slanted toward the premillennial eschatology viewpoint. I would have desired for this to either be removed or at least consider the postmillennial and amillennial eschatology viewpoints with respect to the nations if the premillennial viewpoint was going to be referenced. Because of these two points, I am only giving the book a 3 star rating. I would still recommend this book to those who would like to better understand the role of nations in history and the future, but would caution readers of the two points highlighted. I am thankful for a complimentary review to review this book and provide my honest assessment.
This book is an excellent resource!

I really liked this book, I will be reading again over the holidays just to get to read it without interruptions. I have learned so much from this book. So much information, this is one of those books that you appreciate the work and effort that went in writing it. I cannot say it enough how much I have enjoyed reading it. If you ever wondered, what is God's plan for the nations, this book will truly open your eyes to God's master plan for the nations. God truly sets nations and their boundaries and His love for humanity is evident in His word and in the work He has done to establish the nations. I highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary download of this book for my honest review.
Tons of information

This book is a fantastic resource/reference. It truly delves into God's explanation of the rise and fall of nations, government, and the history of nations. Explains the dominion mandate, in a very understandable manner. This is one that you will want to highlight, and will likely come back to repeatedly. Definitely recommend checking this one out!
Great Resource
Review by Dawn
This book is a wealth of information and a very interesting combination of Biblical scholarship and governmental study. I have never seen a book that goes so into depth of study about what the Bible has to say about government and how it has affected various nations. The study of both history and prophecy were very interesting. For me this was not one of those books that I would sit down and read while relaxing on the beach for a pleasure read but it was so full of information and a great reference book to have on hand. If you are interested in learning what the Bible has to say about governments and the history of nations as it relates to the Bible I highly recommend this book.
