God's Design Science is a complete K–8 homeschool curriculum that combines purposeful, hands-on learning with a biblical creationist worldview. Fully planned lessons, doable experiments, and synchronized grade levels mean the whole family does science together — without doubling your prep.
I have no regrets in using the God's Design series when my kids were younger. I have little science geniuses now. The clear writing, engaging experiments, and overall awesomeness made this series a joy to teach, and my kids both loved our science classes."

In God's Design Science, science and Scripture are never in conflict. Every unit, every lesson, and every scientific concept is deliberately framed around God as the intelligent designer.
Combine all your elementary children for science. Synchronized scheduling between Beginners and Standard books means siblings learn together, conversations happen naturally, and you teach science once.
For grades 5-8, students engage in actual experiments (not just hands-on activities) where they follow the scientific method. Every lesson follows the same three-part pattern: introduce the concept, make observations through a hands-on experiment, then review and discuss.
Co-author Debbie Lawrence demonstrates the activities and experiments lesson by lesson through supplemental video instruction at Master Books Academy.
Pre-planned daily schedules and supply lists make it open-and-go. Experiments are built into the daily flow. Worksheets and assessments are included. Even first-year homeschool parents can open the book and teach with confidence.
Short reading segments keep children engaged. Hands-on participation moves the learning from the page into memory. Don't be surprised when science follows your kids into the backyard, on hikes, and into their free reading.
I wanted to be able to teach all of my four children science together from a Biblical perspective so they would know that God is our Creator and that the Bible can be trusted.”

"My family loves this course. We are using it with my 7th grade daughter, 5th grade son, and 3rd grade daughter. Our kindergartener listens in and participates too. We love that we can all do it together. My oldest daughter dives deeper and does all of the challenge material. It is so nice to have something that works so nicely for all of us."

"This has been our first yr homeschooling and this science curriculum was a game changer for us. I was so nervous about teaching science but Master Books made it so easy with this book. Everything was laid out so well and so much fun! My son loved it oh so much."
Maryann, God's Design for Life Set
"The short, concise lessons allow time for rabbit trails to answer kids' questions and time for more in-depth discussions. It is filled with beautiful photos and great illustrations. Activities are simple and fun and I like the options for more activities in the back of the book if your child's interest leads that way."
Johanna, God's Design for Life: for Beginners
Homeschool Mom
"These lessons are just right for my kiddo who has a sensory processing disorder. The lessons are short enough that we can complete one each day in addition to his other subjects and it's not overwhelming for him."
Kristin, God's Design for Life: for Beginners
Homeschool Mom
"This science curriculum is worth its weight in gold for Biblical homeschoolers. Through these texts, children are taught about the universe and the Earth from a decidedly Biblical standpoint. A child taught from these texts will know what to expect from evolutionist teachings and will be prepared to refute them."
Spikeswifey, God's Design for Heaven & Earth Set

three-part pattern
Four days a week, 40–60 minutes a day. Every lesson follows the same three-part pattern: read to introduce the concept, observe through a hands-on activity or experiment, then review by discussion or worksheet. That consistent rhythm means children know what to expect, parents know what to prepare, and science becomes a comfortable part of the daily routine.

use the scientific method
In the Standard books (grades 5–8), students apply the scientific method in controlled tests — forming a hypothesis, collecting data, and reaching conclusions. At every level, students also engage in exploratory activities: scavenger hunts, model building, demonstrations, crafts, and research projects. The experiments use common household items or opt for the pre-built Supply Kit.

family learning
Beginners (K–2) and Standard (5–8) books on the same topic are designed to be taught simultaneously using a free alternate schedule. Same subject, same day, two levels of depth. Within each Standard book, Challenge Sections and tiered questioning let you flex further across grades without separate lesson planning.
Watch co-author Debbie Lawrence demonstrate the activities and experiments, lesson by lesson. Supplemental video instruction is offered at Master Books Academy for the Standard God’s Design Science courses:

Use this placement guidance to help you choose.
A. God's Design Science is a complete, standalone science curriculum. It covers all major science disciplines across K–8 with no gaps that require supplementing. The Teacher Guide includes lesson plans, schedules, experiment instructions, worksheets, and assessments. Many families use it as their only science resource for years.
A. The most common surprise families report is a child who resisted school asking for science first. Three-part lessons prevent overwhelm, hands-on experiments make abstract concepts tangible, and the consistent daily rhythm builds confidence over time. The series has worked for children with short attention spans, sensory processing challenges, and a wide range of learning styles.
A. Yes. The open-and-go format was designed specifically for homeschool parents who don't feel qualified to teach science. Lesson plans are pre-built, daily schedules are laid out, experiments use common household items, and no advance preparation is required. If you can read the lesson alongside your child, you can teach God's Design Science.
A: Most are straightforward and use items typically found at home, such as marshmallows, cereal, balloons, ice cubes, or basic measuring tools. But optional science kits are available for purchase to ensure you have exactly what you need. Families who find the activity pace overwhelming have the flexibility to scale back without losing the core reading and review content.
