What Your Twelfth Grader Will Learn
Students cap their homeschool journey with a year built on real-world readiness and biblical wisdom. Math: Consumer Math
This course teaches students how to apply math to life decisions like purchasing a car or house, paying taxes, buying insurance, and investing. The course emphasizes budgeting as a tool for making wise decisions. Teens will dig into Scripture to see what God has to say about money and explore case studies that illustrate important stewardship principles.
Language Arts: Language Lessons 12
Language Lessons for a Living Education 12 takes students deep into the craft of communication, culminating in a full literary analysis essay drawn from the Book of Job. Through The Remarkable Record of Job, students examine suffering, creation science, and biblical wisdom alongside real-world writing skills. Each quarter builds mastery in grammar, word choice, essay writing, and literary analysis. Students also develop practical communication skills: nonverbal cues, job applications, college essays, oral presentations, and job interviews. Research paper writing is covered as well, including proper formatting in Chicago, MLA, and APA styles.
Science: Life Science: Origins & Scientific Theory
Send students through a comprehensive exploration of Darwin’s theory of evolution as they critically examine the viability, credibility, and plausibility of the theory. Students will explore the evidence, hear from scientists around the world, explore the fossil record, and examine two opposing views on the origin of life as they discover the unchanging truth of God’s word!
Social Studies: Civics and the Constitution
Take a fast-paced and issue-focused course on the U.S. Constitution in this one-semester course, complete with video lectures. Delve into the history, meaning, and daily functions of the U.S. Constitution in your life and your nation. From its original meaning to the controversies that arise from re-interpretations of it, you will understand how and why the Founding Fathers fashioned a document of God-given rights that have stood the test of time and political tinkering.
Social Studies: Intro to Economics: Money, History & Fiscal Faith
Students explore the history of money and currency, the role of the Federal Reserve, and how modern money systems work. They discover what the Bible says about money and learn to apply those principles to real life. Along the way, they pick up practical skills for avoiding debt, saving, spending wisely, and giving generously. They can expect to study this material for 35-45 minutes twice a week.

Math: Consumer Math
I love this as a final Math course for high school because it covers life skills type math that can easily be overlooked. Budgets, and other math skills for daily life and living successfully as an adult are covered in depth which better prepare students to be successful in their young adult lives by teaching biblical principles of stewardship and money matters.
Language Arts: Language Lessons 12
I appreciated the fact that special attention is given to writing skills in the different collegiate level formats so that students enter the next phase of life with an understanding of each writing format. The books are easy to use and can be self-paced for the student. I used the outline for each week to assign work and set a deadline for my student.
Science: Life Science: Origins & Scientific Theory
I used this in addition to ordering Physics. My student enjoyed this because it developed critical thinking skills in the area of Science as they explored creation theories.
Social Studies: Civics and the Constitution
Although this is designed as a one semester course it could easily be increased with additional outside work, or more detailed assignments like research projects on the various chapters, ideas, ect explored. I think this is a fundamental and important class as the basic understanding of constitutional rights is being lost today. Although it is fast paced it is one of those subjects that will spark table conversation.
Social Studies: Intro to Economics: Money, History & Fiscal Faith
I think this course works well with the Consumer Math and Civics and Constitution classes offered in this bundle; rounding out the final year. My students actually loved this course and we had many, many discussions on the chapters in the course.
Over all this bundle is a great foundation for the Grade 12 year. There are plenty of options if you need additional credits for Science, Language Arts, or other subjects. However, this core set in itself is enough to meet most state requirements while offering an extremely well-rounded 12th grade experience that a student will enjoy.
If you are new to masterbooks or do not know which courses to pick out for 12 grade, these basics sets are a wonderful well-rounded collection to go to. You have math, language arts, economics, civics and science all wrapped up in one set. All books and workbooks are included, schedules for you and your student to follow or change however you life. With this set, your child will be brushing up on math skills, learning to budget and see finances in a biblical way with the Consumer Math course. Language lessons 12 is the final book in a great series covering all of your language arts needs where they will also be going through a study and commentary of the book of Job by Henry Morris. For science, Life Science: origins and theory is actually a required course in our home. It goes through the lies of evolution, theories and solidifies the inconsistencies in what the world is fooled into thinking about creation. This course gave each of my children confidence and information to back up what they knew, so that they could defend their faith and truth in creation. Your 12 grader will also take the half credit of civics and economics. Both come with video instruction and included schedules to make this last year for your child a breeze- but also give them important knowledge from a biblical perspective.
Starting with Language Lessons, the book of Job and analysis of that is great to settle in the Biblical worldview. Life is not easy, but God is in control. I like how the Biblical worldview is tied into communication skills with in person communication as well as written communication. Not only does the student learn proper writing skills for essays, but also in the working world.
The math also helps students know how to handle their money from a Biblical worldview including budgeting, interest, and paying taxes.
Studying math along Economics shows the Biblical worldview of how money works. (a great pair)
Learning about Civics in this bundle is well paired with the economics as civics has a play in economics. Learning about Civics and the Constitution from a Biblical worldview is very important seeing how the founder's faith led to the start of our country and how things are set up the way they are. Very important as the student grows into a voting citizen.
As students are launched into the world beyond homeschooling, they are met with other worldviews on the start of life, and the Life Science course digs deep into that. It shows how the theory of where life came from has changed over the years and what scientific evidence shows. I love how the Teacher Guide has questions that not only get students thinking about what they read, but to see if their answers met the suggested answers and to compare. (It' not just fill in the blanks.)
It's a great bundle of courses to round out high and transition the student into adulthood.
