What Your Ninth Grader Will Learn

Students begin high school with a strong academic foundation. Math focuses on Algebra I concepts including variables, expressions, equations, inequalities, graphing, polynomials, and problem-solving. Language Arts develops high school communication skills through grammar, punctuation, speaking, literary analysis, and writing projects such as essays and summaries, using Pilgrim’s Progress as a backdrop. Social studies covers world geography, exploring the entire globe through its landforms, climates, cultures, and countries — all viewed through the lens of biblical history. Science introduces biology, covering cell structure, genetics, ecosystems, and the complexity of life as part of God’s design. By the end of ninth grade, learners demonstrate readiness for higher-level math and science and advanced composition skills.

This 36-week study of biology begins with an overview of chemistry while opening a deeper understanding of the living things that God created. The course moves through the nature of cells, ecosystems, biomes, the genetic code, plant and animal taxonomies, and more.

Extremely Well-Rounded Freshman Curriculum!
Review by Candice
I love this set for Freshman Year! It is "four" subjects, but taps into other subjects as well. Language arts is extremely comprehensive and has Bible, Vocabulary, Literature, Writing, and Grammar. Algebra is obviously math and Biology Science. The World Geography book is beautiful and so interesting. It includes some historical timelines, as well. This is the perfect age for it as well as Pilgrim's Progress! A foreign language of choice would be the only thing to add to it or maybe an elective if you have to have a certain number of credits, but I love it on it's own and it is open-and-go in true Masterbooks fashion.
Click and Done!

With one click add everything you need (besides electives) for 9th grade to your cart!
Algebra, check, that subject is added. (I am glad it is in an easier layout than the Algebra I had when I was homeschooled).
Biology is a great start to the high school years, especially this biology that starts with a biblical worldview and the chemistry behind the biology. (Chemistry is the best science to do next.)
Language Lessons has been a great series for my son. He was excited to see it continue through high school. I like the critical thinking aspect with Biblical worldview along with Pilgrims Progress. I was pleased to see how Language Lessons 9 with Pilgrims Progress was paired with World Geography. The pair of the allegory of the pilgrim and his journey with the learning how the countries of the world are effected by their culture (which includes religion) is a great set.
For 9th grade, this set helps set that foundation of a Biblical worldview in each subject and sets up to continue to build upon with each year.
I was a bit worried as a parent on what I was choosing for high school for my kids. I didn't want it to be too easy or too hard, but I also wanted courses that glorified God and let them critically think. I am happy to say this set is what I had been looking for. One click and done!
Excellent!
Review by Santina
The ninth-grade basic set is a great transition into high school level work. The schedule laid out at the beginning of each book provides clear daily objectives and sets the student up for success in managing their own schoolwork and time. This allows the student to work independently and have ownership of their education. Although parent involvement is still necessary, the parent has the option to act more as a facilitator and to step in when necessary. The workload is challenging but feels doable. The flexibility in the ninth-grade set is the only ninth grade program I have found that works with real life. The Master Books open-and-go format is still there as usual. I highly recommend this set to enter high school with confidence that your child will receive a well-rounded education and be successful as they progress through each high school grade.

Convenient!
Review by SB
All that you need for 9th grade in one convenient bundle! Each of the four subjects in this bundle (World Geography, Algebra, Language Arts and Biology) approach academics from a Biblical worldview. Students will learn and grow in each academic subject area, but also in their understanding of who God is and how unique and intricate His creation is. Each subject is organized in a straight-forward way, with a schedule that is easy to understand and follow.
