Confusing and Unhelpful
Review by Amanda
Unfortunately, this is the worst grammar curriculum we have used. It was required for an outside high school course, or else we would have ditched it. Mr. Jensen does not explain his terms very well and often uses confusing terminology. For example, "the" is a noun modifier, not an article. "Very" is an intensifier, not an adverb. I understand he is attempting to explain the function of a word, but you need three pages just to decode the terminology he is using. This will not translate into any other English class and just results in frustration. On top of that, it is dry and the DVD is not helpful. Skip this one.
TO the point
Review by Tabitha
This curriculum is straightforward and to the point. Which was perfect for my highschooler. Looking forward to using it again with my upcoming 8th grader.
Too dry
Review by Melissa
We tried this but it was too dry for us. My son needs to practice what he’s learning instead of just looking back for answers. This one just doesn’t seem as effective as our other Masterbooks courses. Will try something else.
Not for us
Review by Kari
Jensen's Grammar is an effective program, but it was not for our family. My daughter was really struggling to not be bored and to understand how it teaches. We found the videos a little dry as well.
It’s too difficult!
Review by Tammy
When we had started this curriculum we liked the first few lessons but then my son and I have started not liking it. It’s difficult to follow and understand. We will switch to something else.
We love it!!
Review by Tammy
We just started using this curriculum and we love it! He gives clear instruction and we love that he is the author of the curriculum. It's easy to follow. We are only a couple lessons in, but so far so good!
Grammar DVD
Review by Rachael
I felt that the teacher on the DVD was a little dry and hard to follow. It is a great book but did not hold my sons attention.
Good curriculum
Review by Crystal
This is a great curriculum to go over punctuation etc. I wanted to make sure my kids had a firm grasp on those skills before college and I feel this is a perfect fit!
