Q. Are the images inside The World's Story Series too graphic for children?

A. The series is designed for grades 6 through 8 to interact with the material, but families have different opinions on what is considered disturbing, too graphic, or inappropriate. The student books are filled with historical photographs to show the reality of history. Volume 3, The Modern Age, does contain imagery of intense events from history including World War II scenes of tanks in the streets and the aftermath of bombings; The Holocaust, including actual photos of people in concentration camps; and political figures like Adolf Hitler and scenes of Nazi youth rallies. Due to the particular horrors of modern history, Volume 3 is not recommended for students below 6th grade. Parents are encouraged to preview possibly upsetting sections to decide if they are right for their specific child. See more here.
