Overview

After Noah's Flood the earth and its climate were undergoing drastic changes. The stage has been set for the Great Ice Age. Noah's descendants had to learn how to survive in a strange often hostile land. In part one of Life in the Great Ice Age, we'll spend summer with Jabeth and his family as they survive a saber-toothed tiger attack, battler cave bear, and go on a woolly mammoth hunt.

Part two explains the scientific reasons for the Ice Age: what caused it, and how long it lasted. It answers the question, "Will there be another Ice Age?" Archaeological and fossil finds are also discussed in detail in this exciting book that explains the Great Ice Age from a Biblical perspective.

Good book for 5th grade
Review by Camey
Using with my 5th grader and one of his friends alongside their science as a “book study”. There is a little study guide available on Christian Book if you can find it. They are enjoying it and like studying the pictures and learning that cave men were just like us, just in a different time and environment. Also they were able to pick out important info like the Tower of Babel story and Noah’s Ark.
We loved this, perfect for elementary morning basket!

We were using a literature based program in 4th grade, as we returned to homeschool from a rigorous private school, and this book was included. What a welcome breath if fresh air for our son this was... To settle in on the couch, relax, and learn! These books are amazing in how they teach so much with such interest. In fact, this book and a couple others led us to MB. We ended up switching the lit curriculum in part, to include Passport to the World, another top favorite!
Love this sweet story line. I wouldn't miss this one!
Interesting

Best book we’ve read about the period around the ice age! I love how the book breaks the typical cave man stereotype and explains the changes in bodies over time. True to creationism.
Fantastic!

I wanted to teach my girls about the ice age. I found this book so fascinating. I read it aloud to my kids. I think I liked it more than they did! Great for older kids or adults.
Great addition!

Followed another review and used as a read aloud for my 5, 7 and 9 year old. Kept them engaged and they loved learning and listening to this book. Very informative and easy to follow
Great ice age story
Review by Kailyn
I did this book as a read aloud with my 3rd grader and we both enjoyed it. Definitely gave a better idea of ice age lifestyles and what realistically it was like (not Hollywood style).
so great!

Assigned this to my 5th grader as a free reading book and when he finished his portion everyday, he followed it with an enthusiastic " did you know?" or "Listen to this!" Such a wonderful book
Great Ice Age reference

Loved this book along side studying the Ice Age. Wonderful view of what life was like during that time period.
Read aloud
Review by Carissa
This book is a great read aloud and answers many of the questions about how, why, and when the ice age was, and the story helps to keep your child’s attention.
Great Teaching Tool
Review by Beth
I remember reading through this book as a child and I picked one for my kids. It's nice to have an accurate book to teach my children with so that they can learn from a Christian perspective.
