    I love these math books! The stories that help connect the student with real life application and the slight spiral approach really helps keep this math concepts fresh! I love these math books so much, I am upset that it ends after 6th grade! I wish that they would continue this series through 12th grade!!!

    We have struggled with math so I’ve tried a couple different things. We switched to this and it’s been a Godsend! My kid doesn’t love math so it’s nice that it doesn’t take him forever to do but he’s still learning. He asked that we keep using their curriculum next year.

    Our family has been using Math Lessons for A Living Education since our oldest was in first grade. It has been perfect for our family as it works for all different learning styles - from our artistic and nature-loving ones to more logical thinkers. The story line keeps their interest and brings math applications to life, while reinforcing godly character and worship of the Creator.

    This series is designed to be developmentally appropriate, so you will see lighter work loads that build with each level (and graduates of this series are well-prepared for Principles of Mathematics). If we need extra practice with a concept, we pull in some pages from Practice Makes Perfect and the various activities help to reinforce what we are learning. Practice Makes Perfect has also been helpful to keep math skills sharp through the summer!

    The only thing I wish were different is math facts memory work. I feel like the facts are introduced in kind of random order, and while there are a lot of prompts to review, it is easy to skip over them since it is not actually written into the curriculum. Obviously that responsibility falls on the teacher, but it would be helpful to have it more thoroughly incorporated. Overall though, I love this series and wish it had been around when I was a child!

    Bought this for my son and then my daughter. She has enjoyed it and we will continue the series. Would like it if some of the lessons that are all handwriting were broken up with other activities/problems.
