Practice Makes Perfect: Level 2 builds on that foundation by providing just-right reinforcement for every lesson. With additional worksheets, manipulatives, and quizzes, students gain extra practice where they need it most—without turning math into drill-and-kill or busywork.

Together, these two complementary resources create a gentle yet thorough math program that supports both guided instruction and growing independence.

A Beloved Favorite!
Review by Charity
The Level 2 Math bundle is in our family's top 10 favorite Master Books products of all times, although it was the one that took us the longest to decide to switch to with my oldest. Before coming to Master Books, she had used another story based program that had questionable role models in it. We switched because I knew that Math Lessons had stories that encouraged character growth and family values, and the math methods used by the many other publishers we were trying were not working out. We actually had a new baby in the house at that time which made the MLFALE 2 stories even more special.
I also love that the Math Lessons series uses so many real-life applications of the math concepts. The Lessons are simple but deep and meaningful.
I do wish I would have used Practice Makes Perfect with my oldest but I had other resources on hand so I stuck with those and have often regretted that decision. Most of my other resources made math way more complicated and confusing and abstract than that needed to be. I love how the Practice Makes Perfect book from Master Books keeps things simple and fun. It coordinates well with the lessons, while keeping past concepts fresh. I am looking forward to finishing the practice book with my current second grader over the summer as she prepares to transition into Level 3 in the fall.
I am so thankful that both the lesson book and the practice book are offered in a bundle now because with my second I forgot to order PMP because it slipped my mind and there was not a bundle set yet. I just ordered this bundle for my third child and loved the ease of being able to put both in my cart at once. Looking forward to another fun year of watching another child learn and grow along with Charlie and Charlotte and Baby Ella.
Math Made Easy
Review by Stephanie
Everything was explained in simple terms and easy to follow without making math overwhelming.
I appreciated the lesson time line in the front that I was able to use to keep me on track.
I do not regret buying the set for the extra peactice book. Review sheets to supplment the work from the main book and reinforce the lessons learned without
The work was to the point and simple allowing there to be plenty of time to dig into the extra practice book.
Math for every learning style
Review by JoyfulMommy
Our family has been using Math Lessons for A Living Education since our oldest was in first grade. It has been perfect for our family as it works for all different learning styles - from our artistic and nature-loving ones to more logical thinkers. The story line keeps their interest and brings math applications to life, while reinforcing godly character and worship of the Creator.

This series is designed to be developmentally appropriate, so you will see lighter work loads that build with each level (and graduates of this series are well-prepared for Principles of Mathematics). If we need extra practice with a concept, we pull in some pages from Practice Makes Perfect and the various activities help to reinforce what we are learning. Practice Makes Perfect has also been helpful to keep math skills sharp through the summer!

The only thing I wish were different is math facts memory work. I feel like the facts are introduced in kind of random order, and while there are a lot of prompts to review, it is easy to skip over them since it is not actually written into the curriculum. Obviously that responsibility falls on the teacher, but it would be helpful to have it more thoroughly incorporated. Overall though, I love this series and wish it had been around when I was a child!
Love them!
Review by Julie
Our family has been using Math Lessons for a Living Education for the last 6 years and we love it! We always use the main text book during the school year and then use the practice book during the summer for review before we start the next level. We’re excited to see that these are offered as a bundle now! My boys enjoy that the lessons are short enough that they don’t get burnt out but theres enough review built into the book that they are able to get a concept down. The practice book helps to make sure there are no gaps in what they’ve learned during the year. We love that it is practical and can be applied to everyday life.
like peanut butter and jelly
Review by Barbara D.
Both books are great, but together is a perfect match.
The student book is the main part and Practice makes perfect makes it even sweeter.
I can use the tests in PMP for record keeping, or many parts of PMP, while the bulk of the learning and work is in the student book.
This set holds a special place in my heart for math. This is the first math book we used with Master Books, and we loved it. I found it hard my first time through when I was dealing with a miscarriage and the kids in the story got a new baby sister. God made it sweet and had my daughter go through this book when her baby sister was born.
This level is also a milestone because in lesson 30 I use that lesson to teach my kids how to sew. However, when life hits, and I can't teach to sew in lesson 30, PMP has pages of review for that week.
When working on perimeter, my daughter liked the practice makes perfect pages better because of the pens for the animals.
Many good memories with math, and I am excited to use it again in the future!
Gentle Math
Review by Math Level 2
We switched to this from another curriculum. With the other curriculum, my daughter would get overwhelmed with the amount of work on the page and give up before she would even get started. Math was such a fight. With Master Books math lessons, she enjoys math. The gentle approach really works and she has learned so much!
perfect math bundle!
Review by Sara G
I love the concept of having extra practice sheets especially in the early years and I am so thankful masterbooks has come out with a bundle! This set does not disappoint, the fun worksheets help solidify addition, telling time and simple fractions to name a few. The math lessons book introduces the concept and the practice sheets help you revisit them so you can stay on top of what your kiddos are grasping.

I recommend this set!
Fantastic!

A fantastic set for building strong math skills. The lessons are engaging and easy to follow, while the Practice Makes Perfect workbook provides helpful extra review. Together, they reinforce important concepts and help students grow in confidence as they learn.
The Perfect amount of practice!
