Math Lessons for a Living Education Level K teaches foundational concepts using a delightful story and colorful pages. Instead of just memorizing math facts, young, homeschooled students begin applying what they learn through everyday life situations. Using the popular Master Books' teaching method, this course allows children to learn smarter instead of harder!

In Level K, your student will learn:

  • Counting & Number Sense: Count forward and backward to 10, recognize and write numbers 0-10, and develop essential counting principles like one-to-one correspondence.
  • Shapes & Spatial Reasoning: Identify, sort, and describe basic shapes.
  • Measurement & Comparison: Compare objects, opposites and symmetry, position words, cooking terms, concepts of time, and an introduction to money.
  • Critical Thinking & Character Development: Build problem-solving skills, develop patience and perseverance, and apply math in real-life situations through engaging, story-based learning.

This beginner level homeschool math curriculum was written to be used by you and your young students together. It begins the story of a twin brother and sister as they interact with their family, friends, and town. They make connections in life and find it full of learning opportunities! Students will learn about counting, basic shapes, opposites, positional words, graphing, and more. They will also learn about the weather, nature, and how unique God created them to be. Come join the twins as they encounter living math adventures.

So fun and rewarding!
Review by Momma of 4 boys
My boys love the stories that come with each lesson. Its a fun approach and enjoyable for everyone.
Nice foundation
Review by AllisonBrost
This provided a great foundation of math for my "late born" 6 year old. She came from public school preK so we flew this book finishing in less than a semester. Provided a great platform of review to launch into deeper material! She begs for her math every day!!!
Great for young kindergarteners
Review by Charlotteak
I think this is a great curriculum for kids that need a more gentle approach to kindergarten. My oldest is up to 2nd grade math and my 5 year old is currently doing this one (level K). I can see how it gently progresses over the grade levels. It's been beneficial for our family! Some kids may be ready for this level for prek and others for kindergarten.
Painless and effective
Review by MC
As a busy homeschool mom this curriculum has been a God sent. My child is grasping concepts, loves the worksheets and is stress free. Open and go!
Simple, straightforward, and fun!
Review by Christina
This is a simple, straightforward and fun way for our youngest to learn math. He's loving this curriculum switch and has completed more than 1 day each school day because he's enjoying it so much! He also enjoys the stories at the beginning of each week.
My Daughter Loves it!
Review by Jesinia
I was a little nervous when my youngest started homeschooling. I had learned a lot from her homeschooling her older siblings. She is a little tricky. The amount of time that needs to be spent on each lesson is perfect for her, and she enjoys doing worksheets.
Nice but didn’t learn much
Review by AbbyE
I used this for kindergarten but it was too easy for my daughter. She was ready for simple addition facts and this didn’t cover it. While I loved the weekly stories she didn’t and we ended up skipping them.
Loved it
Review by Nicole
Great introduction into this series for my littlest. It provided a great foundation for her as we began her homeschool journey.
We loved it!
Review by Hannah
My 5 year old REALLY enjoys math and this book was great! This book is set up for 5 days of work a week, but we usually did several days at a time because he moved through the work so fast. For that reason, I really enjoy the flexibility & ease of setting your own schedule/pace that MB curriculum offers!
Level K
Review by Katie
This is my third time using this curriculum. We have been pleased with the ease. It’s short lessons and we are able to do multiple lessons a day.
