Review by Laurie
I have always looked at the stars and marveled at God's design in our universe. So when Masterbooks created a devotional geared towards kids, I knew it would be excellent. This devotional has a lot of details to expand general knowledge about subjects like planets, comets, black holes, and more. But it doesn’t stop there, it goes deeper into thoughtful questions to think deeper, and of course, Bible verses to tie the foundations of faith together. I am so glad I chose this for my kiddos, and I highly recommend doing it together as a family.
Fun and informative

My kids and I really enjoyed this devotional. It’s very visually appealing.
I will say my younger two enjoyed it a bit more than my middle and high schooler.
This book is packed full of planet information. I really appreciated how the Author correlated that to God and His Word, who God is and how we can apply it to us. I like the journaling part of each devotional as it allowed me to see how kids understood and applied what we read to their lives.
This course would be wonderful to add to a space unit study.
This Devotional is "Out of this World"
Review by Barbara D
I love the verse "The Heavens declare the Glory of God..." and this devotional sure does that! So many interesting facts about our universe and how it all points back to the Glory of God, our sin, and our relationship with Him. I enjoyed reading this devotional and I am passing it to my kids to help guide them to independent devotional. They are excited to get it and dig through it themselves. It is more than a devotional but not quite a Bible study book.
It is well designed for kids with practical application questions, and places to answer questions that it has asked. It is full of beautifully colored pictures of our universe.
I highly recommend this book.
Fun and Faith-Filled Space Science!
Review by Kathleen C
As a homeschooling mom always looking for Christ-centered science resources, Out of This World was a fantastic find. Nancy I. Sanders has done a wonderful job blending solid scientific information with a biblical worldview, making this book both educational and spiritually enriching. My kids were instantly drawn in by the colorful illustrations, fun facts, and clear explanations of outer space—all while being reminded that God is the Creator of the universe. The format is perfect for elementary and middle-grade learners, and the short chapters make it easy to incorporate into a unit study or morning basket. It sparked a lot of great discussions in our home, not just about space, but about God’s power, design, and creativity. I highly recommend Out of This World to other homeschool families who want science lessons that point their children to the glory of God.

Captivating

This devotional is geared towards upper elementary but my younger kids enjoyed it as well. The pictures are captivating and gorgeous. The devotions point to the amazing work of God in creating such a vast universe.
This devotion would be great for morning basket time as a family. It would also pair well with learning about the solar system and astronomy.
Such a wonderful devotional!

My 8 and 11 year old children are both eager to do this devotional. We use it for our morning family Bible study. It is fun, educational and so easy to use. I love how Nancy Sanders connects the facts and topics about the space with God, His character and Truth. It makes it fun to learn about the planets, stars, space and God at the same time. I love the deep questions which she included for kids to ponder about. There are daily written activities provided for each topic. They are easy to complete, but make the child either think about the truth deeper, or share it with friends or family members. I think it is a perfect book for the preteen age to introduce them to space and let them learn God's truth as well. It is light enough for kids to even do it on their own. I highly recommend!
Fun and interesting devotional
Review by SB
Out of this World Devotions by Nancy Sanders is a fun way for kids to learn more about outer space and our solar system as well as grow in their faith and increase their understanding of God as the Creator. This 21 day devotional isn’t an in-depth Bible study, but each day contains at least one Bible verse, along with a science vocabulary word/term, an interesting space fact, an activity to share with others, a personal prayer, and a question to answer. The back of the book contains 13 activities for those who want to make some hands-on applications.

The space theme and the fact that it is a 21-day devotional makes this book appealing and do-able for kids. It is fun and interactive, not overwhelming.

This 21 day devotional was great for my outer space fact loving son. The daily info, verses and challenges to share Jesus were great. He enjoyed learning about planets and space and we had some great discussions on the topics. Very fun way to do daily devotional. Written well for the suggested age range. My son is 10 and it was just right for him and his skill level. The questions could be done verbally or written depending on skill level.
Great little devotional book about God and Space!
Review by Michelle C.
Out of This World takes the reader on a journey through our solar system and beyond, all while connecting God’s creation to the Creator Himself. Each day’s reading is short but full of scientific and biblical truth. Within a day’s devotion the reader will read about something in the universe and how attributes of God, Jesus or the Bible etc. can relate to what was taught. There are prompts or activities to be like Jesus and share the gospel with others in addition to questions that encourage critical thinking and reflection. A fun fact, glossary term, key verse and prayer are also part of each day. There are additional activities listed in the back that give opportunity for extended learning. I really appreciate that it is noted in the days when each activity can be done. The layout is engaging and simple enough for younger students. This 21-day devotional could be enjoyed by space lovers and Jesus lovers alike!
