Improve penmanship while memorizing and applying the words of Jesus through engaging, Scripture-based activities.

More than just a handwriting workbook, Little Scribes: Practicing Penmanship with Scripture teaches students to approach God’s Word with the same reverence and care as the biblical scribes. This handwriting curriculum transforms handwriting practice into an act of worship. As children carefully write the words of Jesus, they develop spiritual discipline and attentiveness, build confidence in their writing, and cultivate a personal connection with God’s Word.

Each lesson blends handwriting, Bible memory, and hands-on application to help kids truly hide Scripture in their hearts (Psalm 119:11)—building both skill and faith at the same time.

Beautiful Handwriting Practice
Review by Kathleen C
As a homeschool mom, I’m always eager to find resources that blend academics with faith and character formation — and Little Scribes Practicing Penmanship with Scripture delivers beautifully. This penmanship workbook makes handwriting practice meaningful because each lesson pairs beautiful script with Scripture passages. My children aren’t simply tracing letters — they’re meditating on verses as they practice.
The layout is excellent: clear, easy-to-follow letter tracing, informative guidance, and a gradual progression so that kids can improve without feeling overwhelmed. I love that it doesn’t rush them; instead, it encourages steady growth at a comfortable pace.
Beyond just teaching neat handwriting, this workbook has become a part of our morning devotions: as my children trace each line, we pause to discuss the verse and its meaning. It’s become more than handwriting — it’s an opportunity for quiet reflection and spiritual growth. For any homeschool family wanting to nurture faith while building practical skills, this book is a wonderful fit.
Lovely add on!
Review by Marlé
It's a fun add-on to a Bible curriculum. Lovely verses to practice on, but your child need to know cursive already(additional practice). I enjoy that the sentences get longer as they work through the book and the additional activities are fun and engaging. The answer sheet at the back is a huge plus in my book!
Amazing resource!

What a lovely book to add to our baskets! I find this an excellent way to promote scripture memorisation and give handwriting practice. My kids are currently still busy with Handwriting A-Zoo and I might shelve it until they are done with that one as it seems to be the perfect stepping stone between A-Zoo and Catch on to Cursive. My daughter absolutely loves it(she is 7). I do feel a little more foundation work is needed in her case before she will receive the full benefits as she still turns her letters and numbers around a bit and formation is often wrong. Once she has the mechanics down this one will definitely be the next step. It is absolutely gorgeous and filled with great biblical concepts presented in bite-sized activities. Definitely recommend.
Bible and Handwriting Practice
Review by JC
I would consider this more of a Bible supplement or copywork book than I would handwriting practice. My reasoning behind this is because print handwriting is everywhere. So for me, handwriting practice is more than copying. I would expect more formation instruction/reminders, tips for spacing, etc. This book doesn't have those things. If all your child needs is copywork, then this fits the bill. If they need more help, I suggest doing A to Zoo offered by Masterbooks first, then this book.
....However, I do like this as a Bible supplement. Some things covered as part of the copy work are: how to write out a Bible verse reference, a prayer journal, words of Christ are printed in red like they are in many Bibles, topics such as godly character and sharing the Gospel, etc. In that respect, it's very good. I would also say that a child who can read can probably do it independently for the most, if not the entire, part. Which frees up mom's time .
What I've been looking for!
Review by Michelle C.
I have been looking for a resource with Scripture copywork for some time now and Little Scribes does not disappoint! It has 72 open-and-go lessons, which is the perfect amount for younger ages. It can easily be integrated alongside a handwriting curriculum or used as a standalone course for practice and review.

Little Scribes offers so much more than just copying Scripture. It has Biblical themes that are gently introduced throughout the course. These include salvation and eternal life, prayer, forgiveness and The Beatitudes. Each lesson has a Scripture verse to copy in addition to an activity page that complements the verse such as words to find, coloring pages, mazes, or prayer journal.

I would have loved to see the book progress to less tracing pages and more pages where the font is just typed out in regular manuscript letters, but this preference does not stop us from using this course. Both my 4 year old and 7 year old are not only enjoying this course but they are constantly asking to do more pages. I hope MasterBooks will do another level for grades 3+ with no tracing and smaller font and lines. I would even love to see an older version of this for all the way up to high school students or adults!
We can all benefit from taking the time to copy Scripture!
We have really enjoyed this course and I highly recommend it! Well done MasterBooks!
Daily Scripture Writing
Review by Laurie
Little Scribes: Practicing penmanship with scripture is an excellent addition to my 2nd-grade morning routine. As she is able to work on this independently, it gives me time to work on more complex courses with the older kids. The days all start with a brief tracing of a Bible verse or portion of a verse, followed by copywork. The second page of that day typically includes an activity such as coloring, a word bank, or a prayer journal, among others. I love how multitasking this course is, as my daughter works on developing independence in reading scripture, writing, using proper grammar, and spelling.
Great addition to daily practice
Review by Lyn
This has been such a wonderful addition to our daily school work. I love that it uses Scripture verses for copy work and handwriting practice. Evryday there are two pages to do. The first is the Scripture copy work, the second page is always something fun that my student looks forward to doing whether a coloring page, etc.
My student is still young and not a fan of handwriting yet. This book has just enough copy work for my student that he gets in the practice without feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. It’s a fun little book that I look forward to using with my younger students.
All in One Bible and Handwriting Course
Review by LoveToBeMom
A lot of thought, prayer, and planning went into this sweet hand writing course! Children will practice printing letters by copying the direct words of Jesus. It is compiled in such a way that children will learn the truth of God’s word. The verses are not just randomly chosen but are grouped to help children better understand the gospel, key elements of the Christian walk, and what Jesus desires for us. There is also a prayer journal to help children have a more intentional prayer life. Children will learn about salvation, eternal life, and forgiveness to name only a few. I highly recommend this!

Bonus they are learning to focus on handwriting, coloring beautiful pictures and doing other fun activities. Great book to have with you in the car, on the go, or morning baskets.
Writing God’s word
Review by Lboaz
This is an excellent resource to practice handwriting. It not only gives text to copy but also activities that will strengthen hand muscles such as coloring sheets, mazes and drawing. I love that my kids are learning foundational scriptures as they work through this book. The prayer journal activity is a nice addition as well.
