Inspire Confidence in Math

Mathematical terms and concepts can seem so complex and intimidating as students transition from the upper elementary years to Jr High—Katherine Loop’s down-to-earth style and conversational tone sets students as ease and inspires them to approach all those terms and concepts with confidence and an understanding that each simply describe a useful tool we can put to use in everyday life, history, science, art, music, and more!

Engaging, Conversational Lessons

Principles of Mathematics focuses on mathematical concepts and emphasizes practical application, teaching your student both the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of math through engaging, conversational lessons. This approach firms up foundational math concepts and prepares students for upper-level math in a logical, step-by-step way that helps students understand concepts, build problem-solving skills, and see how different aspects of math connect.

Incredibly Faith Building

“Every time you solve a math problem, you’re relying on the underlying consistency present in math. Any time you see that math still operates consistently, it’s testifying that God is still on His throne, faithfully holding all things together.” – Katherine Loop

In Principles of Mathematics Book 1, each lesson and exercise leads your student towards understanding the character and attributes of God through the study of math history, concepts, and application.

Principles of Mathematics Book 1 goes beyond adding a Bible verse or story to math instruction, it actively teaches and describes how the consistencies and creativity we see in mathematical concepts proclaim the faithful consistency of God Himself and points students towards understanding math through a Biblical worldview.

God Focused Math
Review by Lindsay
I love that the first few lessons focus on God creating and using math. Math is not neutral! I have been very impressed with this curriculum.
Well Balanced
Review by Momma Thomas
This mathematics course was great for pulling my son into deeper mathematical concepts. He enjoyed learning things that he otherwise wouldn’t have in public school. We’re looking forward to the next book in the series!
Great history of math and biblical worldview
Review by Eileen
I really wanted to like this, but it was not a good fit for my son. He wasn’t able to do the reading by himself (he has struggled with reading), so I wound up reading it to him due to there being so much info for each day; I enjoyed it though due to learning the Math history of certain concepts and how it’s used throughout Gods creation! It also felt like it was a huge jump from 6th grade MLFLE- especially amount of work. Granted 7th grade is always a step up in most cases.
It's a yes for us
Review by Raquel
Pom math has been a game change for my teen it teaches math from a biblical perspective and she's able to work at her pace. Highly recommend both books
One of my favorites
Review by Tabitha
This has been one of my favorite math curricula to use. I have only used it with one of my children so far but I am hopeful that it will work with my middle child soon!!
Really enjoyed
Review by Sarah
I think I have a household of math haters if I’m honest. I do like the repetitiveness of this book. It was easy to understand and made it a bit easier to get through math. I’d recommend.
This program was very thorough and well written
Review by Heather
As far as math text books go, I found this curriculum to be easy to read and understand. It was consistent and my son really enjoyed the program and did very well.
Excellent!
Review by Stacey
The well-planned and sequenced lessons will be just what we need. We are using this rather late because of learning/personality issues, but it will make learning mathematics oh-so-much easier.
Biblical math
Review by Jessica
Katherine writes how math ties in with God’s design. It makes learning math more fun and engaging.
Not as clear as it should be
Review by JH
I'd hoped to like this curriculum more than I do. The maths in it is top notch and progresses in a sensible fashion, and the God-centredness is vital, but the presentation of concepts is wordy and repetitive. It gets my girl confused. I have to read ahead myself and then put it in my own words, more simply and with more clarity. Also, there isn't enough room in the worksheets to write complete answers for many multi-step problems. It's harder to work through than it should be. Sorry, I had high hopes and wanted to like it more.
