Approach Math with Confidence

Mathematical terms and concepts can seem so complex and intimidating as students begin the transition from Jr High to High School math courses. Katherine Hannon’s down-to-earth style and conversational tone sets students at ease helping them to approach new formulas, terms, and concepts with confidence. Students develop an understanding that each concept simply describes a useful tool we can use in everyday life, history, science, art, music, and more!

Engaging, Conversational Lessons

Principles of Mathematics Book 2 focuses on pre-algebra concepts and emphasizes practical application, teaching your student both the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of math through engaging, conversational lessons. This approach firms up foundational math concepts and prepares students for algebra in a logical, step-by-step way that helps them build problem-solving skills and see how different aspects of math connect.

Incredibly Faith Building

“Every time you solve a math problem, you’re relying on the underlying consistency present in math. Any time you see that math still operates consistently, it’s testifying that God is still on His throne, faithfully holding all things together.” – Katherine Hannon

In Principles of Mathematics Book 2, each lesson and exercise leads your student towards understanding the character and attributes of God through the study of math history, concepts, and application.

Principles of Mathematics Book 2 goes beyond adding a Bible verse or story to math instruction, it actively teaches and describes how the consistencies and creativity we see in mathematical concepts proclaim the faithful consistency of God Himself and points students towards understanding math through a Biblical worldview.

Detailed
Review by Jessica
My 8th graders love for math expanded even more with these lessons. Plenty of review without being too repetitive if your kiddo catches on quickly. It’s a must before high school.
Would Recommend!
Review by Kristy
I really like the approach the author took when writing this curriculum. All lessons are centered around God and the concepts are easy to follow.
Amazing
Review by Raquel
Pom math has been a game change for my teen it teaches math from a biblical perspective and she's able to work at her pace. Highly recommend both books
How Does She Do This?
Review by Betsy
How does the author take students from reviewing addition and subtraction at the beginning of the first level to Algebra 1 at the end of the second level?
I’m not sure, but that’s why I paid for this curriculum! The author dies an amazing job and I went from having some kids crying over math to enjoying and thriving in math! From struggles to strength!
It is also well suited for advanced students as I have a 6th grader wrapping up level 2 and it is only March.
I highly recommend this curriculum and the Master Books Academy videos. We did not use them in Level 1, but did in Level 2. They made a world of difference and my children were able to truly grow in independence, confidence, knowledge, understanding, and excitement about math!
Just finished
Review by Trisha
We just finished this up in December 2023, as with the last math book in this series, my son was able to follow it with out much help from anyone.
Glad we got this
Review by Crystal
If you are questioning POM because of how different it is from MLFLE... don't. We were worried about it being a hard transition, and being too confusing... but I am so glad we stuck with it. Daughter has done so well, learning and understanding and able to still work independently.
Easy to use
Review by Megan
My daughter uses this and likes it. Easy to understand and does a good job of reviewing to make sure they keep all concepts.
Excellent Pre Algebra Course!
Review by Danielle
The author, Katherine A. Hannon, has a way of teaching Pre Algebra in a very easy to understand way. I love that this curriculum teaches how the very existence of math proclaims the faithfulness of God. I feel my son is prepared to see the purpose and understand the mechanics of high school math concepts. I highly recommend the Principles of Math 1 & 2 Biblical Worldview Curriculum for Jr. High students to prepare them with a solid foundation for high school math and real life. My only wish is that the author would come out with an Algebra 1 and Geometry Course for the high school math course requirements.
Great Math Book
Review by Thomas
I really enjoyed this and the previous Principles of Mathematics Book. I was hoping there were high school books in the series. The lessons seemed well paced and there was plenty of review included too.
Great math curriculum
