The four-volume Profiles of Integrity series paints ten inspiring biographies in each volume — each story centered on a distinct character trait such as dependability, contentment, tolerance, or resourcefulness.

  1. Vol 1: 1775-1781
Step into the boots of ten real patriots who faced impossible odds during the American Revolution. Whether a pastor, a naval captain, a militia leader, or a homemaker, these extraordinary characters made history with their skillful use of traits like generosity, enthusiasm, and discretion.
  2. Vol 2: 1804-1865
Enjoy riveting but real stories set during westward expansion, the War of 1812, the American Civil War era, and the Victorian Era of England. Each chapter shows how integrity made the difference in daring escapes and rescues, dangerous expeditions, and fierce battles.
  3. Vol 3: 1872-1919
Step into the shoes of ten real people who made history from Reconstruction to the trenches of World War I — an era of railroads, revolution, and global war. At every exciting turn, their integrity made the difference between success and failure.
  4. Vol 4: 1920-1945
Enter an era of revolution, global conflict, and impossible choices. Step into the trenches, skies, and frozen wilderness with ten real people who made history from the Russian Revolution to the end of World War II.

These engaging stories not only deepen your student’s understanding of history but also encourage the development of Christlike character in everyday life.

Recommended for middle and high school students (grades 7 and up), each volume features compelling storytelling, rich historical context, comprehension questions, black and white illustrations, and most importantly, timeless truths about Christian integrity and faith.

  • Character-Centered Discipleship: Each biography is built around a single godly character trait, such as truthfulness, punctuality, loyalty, and honor. The stories and discussion questions encourage students to grow in these Christlike character traits.
  • Inspire World Changing Faith: Through engaging accounts of ordinary people who shaped history, students see how conviction and character can change the world. These stories inspire students to live boldly for Christ, connecting the lessons of the past to their own lives today.
  • Flexible and Family-Friendly Format: Designed for middle and high school students (grades 7 and up), each biography takes about 30 minutes to read—perfect for independent reading, family read-alouds, or morning basket time. Chapters can be read in any order and used flexibly for recreational reading or to supplement a Bible, history, or language arts curriculum.

Fantastic
Review by LaceeC
This is a fantastic box set! We've enjoyed each book in the series and this is well worth the addition to your shelf - or great for a gift! The series is written towards upper elementary aged children. Each book has 10 chapters covering 10 different individuals in our country's history. I appreciate the consistency within the series - each book begins the chapter with a character trait and a Bible verse, and each chapter ends with a Bible verse or quote and questions for discussion. There is some crossover between the What A Character series, also by Marilyn Boyler published by Master Books, but there is new information on each character that is in both series.
Fantastic Character Building Series
Review by Kathleen C
The complete Profiles of Integrity collection has been such a blessing in our homeschool. Together these four books cover a wide span of history while keeping character formation front and center. Each chapter features a memorable story, a defined virtue, a Bible verse, and thoughtful questions that help my kids connect history to their own lives. We’ve used the set for read-alouds, morning basket time, and independent study ,and it consistently inspires meaningful conversations about faith and integrity. I highly recommend this for families wanting to intentionally build both biblical character and historical understanding.

A Wonderful Resource for History!
Review by Sara G
Our family has been reading this set a chapter a night. We get to meet new heres each night, with a scripture reference and virtue that is relevant to the person. My 4 kiddos, all of varying ages love to hear about each person and answer the review questions at the end. We especially like that we weren’t always familiar with everyone from each volume, so we were on pins and needles listening to the new stories we hadn’t heard before! The comprehension questions at the end of each chapter kept everyone engaged as well. A great supplement for any history book, for any age. We all love history and especially love the layout of this series!
