Trusting God Under Pressure
Review by Kathleen C
Profiles of Valor 3 has been a wonderful resource for helping my children see how God works through ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary purposes. This volume places a strong emphasis on perseverance and faith under pressure, showing how men and women relied on the Lord when faced with opposition, hardship, or difficult decisions. As a homeschool mom, I appreciate how these true stories make history personal and relatable while clearly pointing to God’s sovereignty and grace.
The narrative style keeps my students engaged, and the depth of each profile encourages thoughtful reflection rather than just surface-level reading. We’ve used this book not only for history, but also for family discussions about trusting God, standing firm in convictions, and seeking to honor Him no matter the circumstances. Profiles of Valor 3 is an encouraging and faith-strengthening addition to our homeschool that reminds my children that courage flows from a life rooted in Christ.
Great Read - You need this on your bookshelf
Review by Crystal
The Profiles of Valor series is a wonderful way to engage with history in manageable, meaningful pieces. I enjoyed reading the short profiles and discovering moments and people from history that I did not previously know about. Each entry is thoughtfully written and easy to digest, making it perfect for both focused reading and casual browsing.

These volumes are a great addition to a growing history collection and pair especially well with other character-driven history series. If you enjoyed For You They Signed or the What a Character Series, you will love Profiles of Valor. They share the same engaging, story-centered approach that makes history feel personal and memorable.

Highly recommended for readers who enjoy discovering lesser-known details, meaningful stories, and inspiring figures from the past, and for anyone looking to add quality history books to their collection.
Captivating Reader: Men and Women from War of Independence
Review by BuildingontheRock
“In this book you will learn about real-life examples of bravery, compassion, loyalty, alertness, boldness, and incredible persistence. God accomplishes His purposes through men and women who seek to be useful and who lay aside their own comfort to accomplish great tasks.” P. 10 Covering the time period of December 1777-October 1780, Profiles of Valor 3 was a captivating read of spies, including Nancy Strong and John Paulding, patriots for freedom, like the "Swamp Fox", women who served their soldier husbands on the front lines, led by Martha Washington, and a Prussian officer used to bring order to George Washington's troops and equip them to better fight against the British. Geared towards middle and high schoolers, this reader will be particularly meaningful to those studying the American Revolution and birth of our nation. Each chapter highlights a character quality and ends with a set of comprehension and application questions.
Helpful American History resource
Review by SB
I really like how the Profiles of Valor series combines character study with American History. The third book covers the time period of December 1777 – October 1780 and focuses on 10 different character traits and 10 different men and women. Each chapter begins by naming and defining a character trait and then giving a scripture verse to memorize. The stories are not too lengthy and include black and white pictures. Each chapter ends with questions to answer. This series is recommended for grades 7 and up. What a great resource when studying American History!
Lovely series Continues!
Review by Marle
Following the same lovely flow of the first two books, with rich character descriptions and a memory verse for each story, Volume 3 was an absolute delight to read. The stories are interesting and straight to the point, yet never leave out the important details. I especially enjoyed the inclusion of Nancy Strong and Martha Washington and loved learning how both women contributed during the war.
