Great Listen!
Review by Crystal
I have really enjoyed listening to this book! The way the author explored the questions that God asks in scripture was both thought provoking and encouraging. I saw well known Bible passages in a whole new way and gained new understanding of how God communicates with us.
Thought provoking
Review by Yulia
This is a thought provoking book. I really like the choice of questions discussed, and how Israel points out some things that are very symbolic, for example, this quote about Adam and Eve making themselves clothes out of fig leaves after they ate from the forbidden tree and tried to hide from God, "Not only did he hide, but before he even heard the sound of their Creator in the garden, he and Eve had prepared garments to help cover their bodies. They knew God would come looking for them. The openness and transparency they had in their relationship with Him is now shattered. No longer covered in the adequacy of what God had given them (which was being clothed in His image), now the man and the woman were trying to provide their own covering. No longer being righteous, they were trying to be content with looking righteous."

Another example is when God is asking Jacob what is his name: Jacob means deceiver on one hand, but on the other hand, he also pretended to be Esau and lied to his father that he is Esau when stealing the birthright blessing from his brother, so God asks him what is his name in the reference to Jacob wanted to be blessed by God since Esau's blessing did not belong to Jacob, and then God changes his name when He blesses Jacob himself. These are just a couple of examples. It truly was eye opening. I read those passages so many times in life and never thought about that.

The audiobook itself was pleasant to listen to. I love this opportunity to listen to it when I am driving and not being distracted by the busyness of life. This is an amazing book and great audio. I highly recommend it.
Makes you think
Review by Shannon
Questions God Asks dives into life lessons and biblical living. The author uses the questions that God asks in the Old Testament to challenge the reader to think about how they are living in light of that question. Who should we send? Dives into missions, where is your wife? On marriage, What are you doing here? On depression and our purpose, and so on. This was a thought provoking book, one that I will listen to again.
