Excellent Resources for Your Family for Today
Review byWooded Acres Academy
As I read through these books, I came to the realization that it is best suited for families with older children (13+). All of the books are applicable to all families today.
Reset for Parents is a great challenge for you and your spouse to reset your goals for your family. We used Developing a Heart for God in our daily Bible time for a few weeks as we studied Psalms. After listening to a Pilgrim's Progress on CD, our boys are looking forward to 9th grade where they will each go through Pilgrim's Progress Journey Journal as part of their academics. Courage to Stand will renew your faith in God and reignite your desire to stand firm in the Word of God in your everyday life. All of these together create a powerful reset and Godly mindset for your family.

Powerful set of books to equip us in today's world!
Review byMichelle C.
This morning basket lives up to its name – Relevant.
Most of us are familiar with and love the Armor of God; well, this basket is like book armor that protects and equips us to live out our faith and raise our kids to do the same. The books in this basket are very relevant to today’s world.
Developing a Heart for God enables us to be in the book of Psalms daily by encouraging us to pray and meditate on just one verse of Psalm 119 each day.
Christ Over Culture and Reset for Parents both pack a punch for parents but in different ways. I was challenged and convicted by Reset for Parents as I always have things to improve on in my parenting. This book helps me keep the gospel as a focal point while I interact with my kids. Christ Over Culture however, has informed me of terms and ideologies of postmodernism. This book has helped equip me to discuss many challenging topics with my kids as they get older.
Amidst these new and challenging ideologies, we can read Courage to Stand to learn from people throughout history and how they trusted and obeyed God during difficult times. I have been challenged and encouraged by reading this book.
Pilgrims Progress: The Journey Journal is a great addition to any morning time. It has space for notes, and it has vocabulary words and Scripture references for each chapter. It was created with the high school student in mind, but I have thoroughly enjoyed this book myself. While we read Pilgrims Progress, we are reminded of the journey we are on and to not lose faith while we trek toward the Celestial City.
These books complement each other beautifully and are not only wonderful resources individually, but together with the provided schedule, they are a powerful tool for teens and parents.

Engage with the Truth of God's Word in the 21st Century
Review byLLB
The books included in the “Relevant Faith Basket” provide a rich devotional, discipleship, and discussion experience for older students and parents. Developing a Heart for God is a beautiful daily devotional meditating on Psalm 119 throughout the course of the year (180 days). Pilgrim’s Progress: The Journey Journal disciples both parent and student as they engage with Bunyan’s allegory showing how to practically live out biblical Christianity. The Reset for Parents and Christ Over Culture books expediently force parents to jump forward in time and be aware of the current cultural trends our children and young people are facing, leading to essential family discussions on how to continue to live out biblical Christianity in the present cultural climate. God’s Word remains relevant and sufficient today. A wonderful resource for families as they engage with the truth of God’s Word in the 21st century.

Wonderful for equipping teens and parents!
Review bySB
I love the Relevant Faith Morning Basket! It is a great collection of 5 books that will equip and challenge teens and adults to have a stronger faith and to live boldly for the Lord.
The schedule for completing this morning basket in 180 days is color coded and clearly laid out. Developing a Heart for God is read daily, while Courage to Stand and Pilgrim’s Progress: The Journey Journal are usually read two days / week. For parents, Reset for Parents is scheduled to be read one chapter/week, followed by Christ Over Culture.
Developing a Heart for God is an inspiring devotional book that goes through the 176 verses of Psalm 119 one verse at a time. The photographs are lovely. Each day gives us the verse, a thoughtful commentary and a question to prayerfully answer.
Pilgrim’s Progress: The Journey Journal contains the text of Pilgrim’s Progress, along with photographs, illustrations, and notes to enhance your understanding. I appreciate the scripture references in the margins. There is ample space for journaling, and each chapter begins with vocabulary words and a memory verse. The index at the end is helpful.
Courage to Stand is an inspiring book that explores the courage of men and women who took bold stands for the Lord, and encourages us that God can anyone. I enjoyed the variety of people that John Stamper chose to share the stories of: Bible characters, well-known people from the past and modern-day heroes. Each story contains several application sections that help the reader make personal connections. The Takeaways chapter at the end was helpful and encouraging.
Christ Over Culture is a useful book that helps prepare us to respond to the many issues we find in today’s culture. I appreciated the way the author educated about what the various issues are, including terminology, and provided suggestions of how to prepare our children to face these issues. The glossary and index at the back of the book are helpful as well.
Reset for Parents is a very helpful and convicting book that challenges parents to intentionally disciple their children. Chapter 20 contains a helpful compilation of all the questions found throughout the book. The appendix includes “Submit to Me vs. Submit to God Scenarios,” which are very helpful. One of my favorite questions posed by the author, Todd Friel, is “Now that you have been reminded how far short you have fallen, what should you do? That’s right! Run to Jesus and then press on.”

Excellent basket of tools for living in a fallen world!
Review byMichelle
The selection of books put together in this basket is a great spread that will encourage parents and teens in a modern world. I would highly recommend digging into this as a family and have discussions and family prayer time about the lessons uncovered. This basket definitely presents many opportunities for growth both in individual journeys as parents and young people but also together as a family following Christ.

Ponder and Encourage your Faith
Review byHomeschool Mom Michele
This bundle is so appropriately titled. Every book has encouragement for living out your faith. I’ve been so inspired by the stories in each of these books.
Although younger ones could participate in the schedule and glean, I feel this basket is geared toward a bit older student, especially in order to be relevant and most applicable. And it is certainly an encouragement for parents. I would encourage any parent to read each of these titles.
The schedule takes all of the books and makes it manageable to work through them all, adding in Developing a Heart for God with a verse from Psalm 119 each day. And then working your way through the other books.

A great collection
Review byBarbara D
As I was reading some of these books I started seeing how they all go together.
One chapter of "Reset for Parents" that stuck in my mind the first time I read it was about teaching our kids of those who have stood up for our faith over the years. To make sure we know where we come from. "Courage to Stand" perfectly shows a few of those profiles and "Christ Over Culture" gives parents the tools to help give our kids the knowledge to stand in a post modern world. "Developing a Heart for God" is a great way to start each day, then to follow it up with the "Pilgrims Progress Journal Journey" a few days a week. Some are for the parents and some are for the students. It is a well orchestrated basket and has all the pieces work together! These books were crying out to be in a set and it is beautiful to see the set has been made.
I recommend this basket for middle school age and up. Though younger kids can listen in to the Psalms, the other books may be a bit much.

Excellent addition to your day
Review byLize
What a great morning basket!
I’m so happy to see such a good collection of books for us to help disciple our teens.
To be able to read through a classic (Pilgrim’s Progress) and discuss the contents as well as see our teen’s feedback through their journaling, and drawing on the matters discussed is great. I also really enjoy that the set up has Bible verses for our reference throughout the book and we can stop and take time to go and look those up or I can set my teen to look them up individually during the day. This will also help them get in their Bibles a bit more.
Christ Over Culture is probably the most relevant book that they can have and that parents and teens can discuss together. Andrea Crum does an excellent job at showing us what the terminology of the current culture is as well as how to Biblically defend what we believe. She uses up-to-date language so that the people we’re talking to know that we understand what we’re talking about. Our teens can hear the actual wording as well, which will help them defend their faith even more in this ever-changing culture.
Developing a Heart for God is such a great resource to allow us to get into a good heart posture with the Lord. I like how he just takes one Psalm and breaks it down. I think that also helps our teens realize that you could just quickly read something in the Bible or you can really dig into it. This allows them to understand and see how to do that in their walk with the Lord.
I also enjoy that there are books for parents too. I think Reset for Parents could even be read by mature teenagers who are wanting to get a heads up on parenting and while they have time now they can at least get the information into their hearts. And Courage to Stand is excellent- having stories of how others, both historical and contemporary/modern, stood up for their faith in the Lord and didn’t waver. Hearing how God helped them and led them through it, is very inspiring to us to do the same.
The schedule is clear and doable over a 36 week span. I like how there’s a parent schedule too. We get busy so it’s good to have a plan and try to stay on time to actually get through the books.
All in all I would highly recommend this morning basket if you have teens at home and are looking for some great discipleship resources.

Equipping and Inspiring Parents and Teens to Stand Firm in the Gospel
Review byCharity
The Relevant Faith Morning Basket is a perfect resource for parents as they disciple their teens, or as in my case, moms with younger kids to read for themselves so that they can start building a firm foundation and modeling courageous Faith for their kids while they are young.
For your convenience there is a reading schedule available to download that breaks the readings up into manageable portions. Two of the books, The Gospel Reset for Parents and Christ over Culture are specifically geared towards parents. The other three resources, Developing a Heart for God, The Journey Journal, and Courage to stand are intended to be read together with an older child.
I have had each of these books on my wishlist to read as a parent, so I was excited to see that they weee available in a bundle with a schedule. We have been going through Christ over Culture in the book club on the Master Books app which has challenged me as a parent to find areas that I need to be more intentional in my own life with my children. Andrea Crum packs a lot of valuable information and action steps to help prepare our children to face the culture with Christ like courage. As Ephesians 6:13-14 says, all Christians need to be prepared to stand in the truth on the evil day and if we want our children to do this, we as parents need to be prepared to stand as well.
The foundation of our faith is the Gospel, and The Gospel Reset book from this bundle is a great reminder of how the Gospel should impact our parenting so that we are discipling our children towards salvation and a living relationship with Christ.
Once they have put their faith in Jesus alone for salvation, we have the privilege of Guiding and discipling our children on their Pilgrim Journey on earth. The Journey Journal provides the perfect opportunity for parents and teens to record what they are learning together as they read through the text of Pilgrim's Progress. I have enjoyed using it as a resource to look up relevant scripture and vocabulary words as well as the extra notes sprinkled throughout. I am looking forward to using it with my oldest when she is ready. From a young age she has been a huge Pilgrims Progress fan and loves to use journaling Bibles etc, so the opportunity to color and write in the book will be a perfect fit for her.
Of course God's word is the only sure foundation that will give us courage to stand. Developing a Heart is full of rich meditations about God and his Word based on Psalm 119 that can be used for the whole family. Although the scripture quoted is not in our family's preferred version, most of the meditations are still very applicable and it's nice to compare versions as a commentary of sorts. The physical book has a beautiful layout with high quality photographs that add to the experience. Although I have mostly used the audiobook version of this resource, I found myself referring to the text to copy quotes into my commonplace book.
Courage to Stand has also been great to listen to on audio and reference the text for quotes and discussion/ reflection questions. These conversation starters throughout the book that would be perfect for parents and teens. The examples of these men and women has been a challenge to me to examine my faith and make sure that I am truly anchored in Christ instead of being swayed by the influences of Babylon in the world around me. The captivity of Babylon is designed to be compelling and even friendly unless a person decides to submit to a power higher than the state, God's power. But as Ephesians 6 also says, this is not a battle of mere flesh and blood, but a spiritual battle that can change the lives of those around us who are watching.
Although none of us wants to see our kids suffer as they grow older, these books in the Relevant Faith bundle are a great reminder that through these hard times, the precious Faith of the gospel shines even brighter in our dark world. I encourage any parent to read these books now so that they can prepare, encourage, and disciple their children to stand strong in the Gospel.
