Friendly Suggestions

This is an excellent combination of books for both parents and students to discuss what they believe and why and how to apply it as they live for Christ in the current culture. This suggested schedule breaks down a daily reading program for both parent and student. The student is encouraged in daily devotions by reading a page of DHG per day, which in essence is a meditation on one verse from Psalm 119 through the year. Alternate readings between PP and CTS are laid out for each week. Please note the additional suggestions at the end of the schedule, especially regarding PP. Some students may find it helpful to listen to an audio of Pilgrim’s Progress while coloring the pictures. To me alternating readings every other day between 2 books seemed choppy. Maybe completing the PP pages 2 consecutive days and the pages for CTS consecutively the other 2 days of the week would help with continuity of thought in each of the books. Even though the two books included for the parent are Reset for Parents and Christ Over Culture, parents would greatly benefit from completing ALL of the assigned books. I was both encouraged and challenged by each of these thought-provoking materials.

Easy to Follow Schedule

The schedule for completing this morning basket in 180 days is color coded and clearly laid out. Developing a Heart for God is read daily, while Courage to Stand and Pilgrim’s Progress: The Journey Journal are usually read two days / week. For parents, Reset for Parents is scheduled to be read one chapter/week, followed by Christ Over Culture.

Great Schedule!

This schedule is so beautifully done! Five books can be a lot to tackle but this schedule breaks down the books into daily readings to make the entire set manageable to work through. The way the books are spaced out also gives variety throughout the week, while still providing some daily consistency with Developing a Heart for God being done daily. I’m a very visual learner so my absolute favorite part is that the books are color coded on the schedule! I LOVE this feature! It makes the schedule even more manageable to look at and use. I hope all future schedules with multiple books will be color coded! Thank you for this beautiful and easy to use schedule!

Pondering to Encourage your Faith
Review by

What a perfect title for this bundle! Over and over I was encouraged in my faith while reading through these books.
This schedule makes approaching these titles really manageable. Reading and pondering through Psalm 119 one bit at a time each day and then adding on the other books with inspiring stories and challenges for a family morning basket time or even personal reading time.

Beautifully orchestrated basket

After reading these books they all go together so perfectly!
Each day starts with a verse from "Developing a Heart for God" and two to three times a week adding in Pilgrims Progress or Courage to Stand.
The two parent books are broken down into bite size readings weekly. (Making it possible for the busy parent to read).
I love how the schedule is color coded and shows what books are being read by only the parent and books to be read with the student.
A well done schedule for a well done basket of books!

Great Plan to Make Reading these Great Books Manageable
Review by
Charity
I have been reading through these books for myself since my children are still too young to use this Morning Basket. At first I was just trying to plow through, but it was like drinking from a fire hose! This schedule breaks the books down into easy to manage sections for both the parent and student readings. With everything scheduled out you can enjoy all the goodness without the stress of planning. Thank you, Master Books, for removing yet another friction point for us.
