The pervasive influence of unbelievers is a force that demands an answer from the body of Christ. Scoffers: Responding to Those Who Deliberately Overlook Creation and the Flood offers a strong defense for biblical authority equipping believers to stand firm, preach the truth, and make disciples.

“The reality of the biblical account of the Flood is that it is a horrifying account of judgment but also one of glorifying redemption.”

The scoffers of Peter’s day were very much like modern-day skeptics in that they deliberately overlook the facts of biblical history. The cost of their unbelief is catastrophic even within the Christian church. Author Simon Turpin, the executive director of Answers in Genesis in the U.K., prepares us to confidently counter the philosophical bias of scoffers by:

  • Revealing how the Gospel of salvation can only be understood in light of the Genesis account of a six-day creation and the global Flood.
  • Providing an in-depth analysis of 2 Peter 3 to defend the biblical account of Creation against the false notions propagated by scoffers.
  • Presenting a strong defense for the coming of Christ and Christianity for those who have rejected the truths found in Genesis 1 – 11.

Scoffers gives today’s Christian families and leaders a strong defense for the authority of God’s Word helping the Church to “withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” Ephesians 6:13.

A great resource to own
Review by Becky V.
Scoffers is a book you could read over and over again and learn something new and be inspired by it each and every time.

Simon Turpin uses the warnings given in the book of 2 Peter to dive deep into the effects scoffers have had on Creation, Genesis and the flood, the inerrancy of God’s Word, the last days, and more. He shows the importance of Genesis 1-11 and how foundational it is in our understanding of the entire Bible. He also reminds the reader how important it is to firmly know the truth that you stand upon as a believer and to be prepared against those who oppose.

I really appreciated the way in which Turpin presented what the scoffers say followed by biblical truths and evidences. As one who loves visuals, I also loved the tables that are included throughout this book to show the similarities and parallels between different passages. I would definitely say this is a must read.

Be encouraged!!!
Review by Lynette
This book was encouraging to read. It's not a book I could hurry through as there is so much to take from it. It is a good reminder to not get discouraged at what is going on around us. Scoffers will always be there ready to 'scoff' at anyone who believes in the Biblical Worldview. This book really helped remind me why it is so important to know what I believe and why. There is so much good information in here when it comes to Evolution vs. Creationism, much of it I had not even heard before. I learned a lot regarding Noah's flood. It is an amazing story with so much richness to it. I highly recommend this book to read, even if you don't agree in Creationism alone, your thinking will be challenged and you will learn something new. I received a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
Must Read
Review by Laurie
I had been interested in reading this book for a while. When I finally got it. I had a hard time putting it down. This book kept me thinking on such a deep level.

The biggest takeaway from this book is a great reminder that there has always been and will always be scoffers. Be careful not to listen.

A must-read, for anyone who wants to deepen their faith.

I received this free digital course in exchange for my honest option.
Great addition to apologetics library
Review by Crystal
Scoffers, by Simon Turpin, is an excellent addition to your apologetics library. Rich in research, scripture, and thought-provoking information, it is a great resource for being able to respond to those who don’t believe in the Flood, as well as grow in your own faith. Scoffers is very thorough and is written in a style that presents the “arguments” of the scoffers, followed by facts and information to challenge these arguments. I really liked how it wasn’t just a one-sided argument, but provided a thorough defense to each challenge. Scoffers is not a light read, but will not disappoint with the depth of information to help you grow in your apologetics journey.
