A powerful and thought-provoking book
Review byKathleen C
The Long War Against God by Henry Morris offers a passionate defense of the Christian worldview against secularism and scientific naturalism. Through historical analysis and biblical arguments, Morris traces the ongoing conflict between faith and secular ideologies, examining the rise of atheism, the evolution debate, and the influence of secularism. He strongly advocates for a literal interpretation of Scripture, particularly the creation account in Genesis, and stresses the importance of upholding the authority of the Bible in the face of modern challenges.
While the book’s one-sided approach and young-Earth creationist perspective may not appeal to all readers, it is a valuable resource for Christians seeking to understand the historical and contemporary challenges to their faith. Morris’s clear and accessible writing makes complex theological ideas easy to understand, making the book both relevant and timely for those concerned about the growing secularization of society. For believers who share his perspective, it serves as an encouraging call to stand firm in the authority of Scripture.

Clarity and Faith
Review byTonya
This was the first Henry Morris book I’ve ever read and it won’t be my last. It opened to my eyes to what our culture has done, over the years, to cause confusion and lead people away from the truth of how mankind and the world around us was created which thereby confuses people where their purpose lies. I have believed in Creation and our Creator since I was a small child and have not swayed from those beliefs. I wanted to read this book because I have several family members that do not believe in God as sole creator even though they grew up in church and am also raising 4 children that I want to help encourage to follow a Biblical worldview. Wrestling through the theory of Evolution is something many teens and young adults face. This book is a great resource to help strengthen your belief in Creation while also seeing the darkness that has infiltrated in our society through Evolution and historical events. The book is deep, thought-provoking, and I will be referencing it again. I am even more grateful that I have had the opportunity to homeschool and utilize Science and History curriculum through Master Books that teaches Creation and a Biblical Worldview. Giving our children a foundation of where the world started and where they started sets the stage for their faith in God and Jesus. Henry Morris’ The Long War Against God equips readers for the battle they are in to stay rooted to their Creator and to help share their knowledge of the Creator and His love with others.

Great Read
Review byJ. C.
This is not a light read. Dr. Morris covers a lot of ground in this book. It is very good though. Although it is very academic, it's also approachable for the average person. He does a good job explaining his arguments in a simple manner.
I grew up with a Creationist curriculum. I was familiar with many of the people and events mentioned. It made it even more enjoyable for me as he took many things I already knew to a whole new level.
This book isn't really here to argue the differences between evolution and creation, although he does cover that sufficiently. He sets out here to show that evolution is nothing new. This is important in part because many atheists believe that they've evolved to a higher state than early humans, and that's why they don't need religion. Yet their belief system of evolutionary thinking can be traced back thousands of years.
My only disagreement is that he does imply (as some other good men have) that the zodiac signs may be a lost and corrupted revelation of God's plan for man. I find this theory weak at best, largely because the Bible only warns to not look to the stars for our fate, and certainly never tells us to reclaim this "lost" revelation. I also have an issue with divine revelation being lost in the first place. You can certainly research the matter for yourself. However, this is a side note, taking up a very small fraction of a good book. And he is most certainly not advocating for Christians to take up astrology, so I would not let that stop me from recommending this book to a fellow Christian.
I also appreciated how he wrapped up his book with the gospel. We don't argue evolution vs. creation because we want to be right or the smartest. As Christians we argue against evolution in favor of God's Word because the salvation and hope of humanity depends on it.

A must read for every parent and young adult
Review byJulie
A Long War Against God sheds light on how deep evolution has crept into so many facets of our society, even into some of our religious institutions and churches. Dr. Morris goes into detail on the historical timeline of evolution being introduced into our society. He discusses Marxism and how it was rooted in evolution as well. He discusses how evolutionary teaching has affected people’s view on abortion, the nuclear family and has caused the decline in morals.
As our nation was founded on Biblical principals, humanism is quickly taking over. He discusses how humanism is atheism and it is permeating our schools and our society. He goes on to discuss the New Age movement and its deep ties to eastern religion’s. This seems timely as many Christians are being led astray by adopting new age practices in “prosperity gospel” and “positive thought gospels.”
He highlights the dangers of evolutionary teaching on Christian’s that do not have a firm Biblical Worldview foundation and end up falling prey and abandoning their faith.
This is a heavy read, and honestly a book that I will need to read more than once. It has so much valuable information and I love that there are so many sources he cited to refer to, something that seems to be lacking in modern literature.

Thorough yet user friendly
Review bySB
This book might seem intimidating because it is a heavier read, but I think it’s greatly beneficial to help understand the widespread influence that the theory of evolution has had in our world. I know that this book will be a useful tool to reference again and again as we continue to train up our children and combat the lies that we encounter in today’s culture. I really appreciate the indexes at the back of the book: Subject Index, Name Index, and Scripture Index. These indexes make it easy to locate the topics covered, people who were referred to, and the Scriptures that were used. The indexes are especially beneficial in guiding my teenager. Instead of being overwhelmed at the large book, she is able to quickly locate the information she is looking for.

A MUST read!
Review byCRill
This book really opened my eyes to just how intertwined evolution is to religion, politics, science, the education system, etc. The attack on God via creation is astounding. This is a heavy read, but Morris explains such heavy topics in a clear way. This book is a must read for all believers to be able to defend our God as truth but a must read for the unbeliever as well to realize that even with so much work trying to disprove the truths of the Bible, it just doesn't work. There is only one truth, and that is the God of all creation.

Read it!
Review byHeaTher
Not a light read but very rewarding! This is a heavy topic in the Christian community and widely misunderstood. Written in 1986 and relevant decades later, it clearly defines the issues and confusion in the theory of evolution and exposes the harmful myths which have so permeated our society. Henry Morris brings it home with explanations that make sense for non scientific people.
Throughout this book there is no sugar coating or “on the fence” tolerance for the theory of evolution. There are no “grey areas” or “maybes”. He writes confidentiality knowing his words will cause backlash and “Evolutionists of all stripes will sure oppose and ridicule”. He sums it up that “evolution is outside the scope of genuine science and has certainly not been proven by science” I do highly recommend this book.

An Essential Book for Everyone’s Library
Review byLLB
No matter what stage of life or sphere of influence you find yourself in, Dr. Morris’ book, The Long War Against God, is an essential addition to your library. As evolution has infiltrated every aspect of education, culture, and government, it is important to understand its origins, its influence, its deception, and its antidote. Dr. Morris thoroughly lays out the history of evolution in a very systematic and methodical way. He explains its continued perpetuation in our own minds, culture, government, churches, and educational systems, with a special indictment on our universities, which originally taught the truth of God’s Word, and the Church, which failed to defend its sheep against this insidious deception. He reveals the origins of evolution’s self-proclaimed “proofs” used to deceive the masses. He proclaims the truth of God as the Creator and an unswerving allegiance to the infallible and unerring Word of God as the solution for bringing an end to this lie. Dr. Morris challenges his readers: “Evolutionism is uniquely and pervasively important! Christians in particular- and any others who still believe in a personal, transcendent, omnipotent God - urgently need to wake up to the deadly dangers that lie ahead. Evolutionary humanism is far more than a scientific theory. It is being vigorously and more and more successfully promoted as the coming world religion, world culture, and world government” (p. 198). Whatever your position, educational status, or sphere of influence, this is an essential addition to your library to read and reference over and over again.

Detailed and informative
Review bySamantha
This book is very informative and eye opening. I had no idea that the idea of “evolution” was so strongly based on racism and pride… it’s a tragedy. It exposes the ideas that have been ingrained in daily things and glazed over like they belong there, even by brother and sisters in Christ who have yet to see the true roots or to understand the complexities and dangers from teaching our children so contrary to the Word of God.
A serious and heavy read but very detailed and informative.

Well written resource for year to come.
Review byExcellent Refutation of Evoltion
As we, parents in the 21 century, continue to educate our children, reading this book is a must! I will keep this book as a reference book to use as my children finish elementary school and head into their teen years and beyond. The depth of knowledge that Morris uses is unparalleled. His approach in the form of history with proofs is undeniable. Excellent source of data to refute evolution and to prove the Bible is true.
