Overview
The denial of God is the root of every human problem, taking many forms over time — one of which is evolution. And this concept goes much farther back in time than we think.
In The Long War Against God, the late Dr. Henry Morris, a renowned creationist, delves into the history of modern atheistic worldviews. Drawing from the writings of the Greeks, Babylonians, and other ancient philosophers, Morris demonstrates the long history and age of the plan to undermine God’s Word. Whether it’s evolutionism, humanism, pantheism, or atheism, Morris illuminates the past and present of these belief systems that seek to eliminate God.
The Long War Against God will give you the tools you need to strengthen your own — and others’ — faith in the battle for God’s truth.

Customer Reviews
While the book’s one-sided approach and young-Earth creationist perspective may not appeal to all readers, it is a valuable resource for Christians seeking to understand the historical and contemporary challenges to their faith. Morris’s clear and accessible writing makes complex theological ideas easy to understand, making the book both relevant and timely for those concerned about the growing secularization of society. For believers who share his perspective, it serves as an encouraging call to stand firm in the authority of Scripture.
I grew up with a Creationist curriculum. I was familiar with many of the people and events mentioned. It made it even more enjoyable for me as he took many things I already knew to a whole new level.
This book isn't really here to argue the differences between evolution and creation, although he does cover that sufficiently. He sets out here to show that evolution is nothing new. This is important in part because many atheists believe that they've evolved to a higher state than early humans, and that's why they don't need religion. Yet their belief system of evolutionary thinking can be traced back thousands of years.
My only disagreement is that he does imply (as some other good men have) that the zodiac signs may be a lost and corrupted revelation of God's plan for man. I find this theory weak at best, largely because the Bible only warns to not look to the stars for our fate, and certainly never tells us to reclaim this "lost" revelation. I also have an issue with divine revelation being lost in the first place. You can certainly research the matter for yourself. However, this is a side note, taking up a very small fraction of a good book. And he is most certainly not advocating for Christians to take up astrology, so I would not let that stop me from recommending this book to a fellow Christian.
I also appreciated how he wrapped up his book with the gospel. We don't argue evolution vs. creation because we want to be right or the smartest. As Christians we argue against evolution in favor of God's Word because the salvation and hope of humanity depends on it.
As our nation was founded on Biblical principals, humanism is quickly taking over. He discusses how humanism is atheism and it is permeating our schools and our society. He goes on to discuss the New Age movement and its deep ties to eastern religion’s. This seems timely as many Christians are being led astray by adopting new age practices in “prosperity gospel” and “positive thought gospels.”
He highlights the dangers of evolutionary teaching on Christian’s that do not have a firm Biblical Worldview foundation and end up falling prey and abandoning their faith.
This is a heavy read, and honestly a book that I will need to read more than once. It has so much valuable information and I love that there are so many sources he cited to refer to, something that seems to be lacking in modern literature.
Throughout this book there is no sugar coating or “on the fence” tolerance for the theory of evolution. There are no “grey areas” or “maybes”. He writes confidentiality knowing his words will cause backlash and “Evolutionists of all stripes will sure oppose and ridicule”. He sums it up that “evolution is outside the scope of genuine science and has certainly not been proven by science” I do highly recommend this book.
A serious and heavy read but very detailed and informative.
