Excellent resource for memorizing in the New Testament
Review byDebra
One part I really love is that in the introductions to each Bible book, in addition to the usual information like who wrote the book, approximately when, and what the book is about, you also have information on how many chapters and verses are in that book.
There are a number of suggestions for memorization given in the introductory materials. At the end, you have a total of seven appendices which give you some suggestions for passages to memorize (Seven Short Scriptures, Sin to Salvation in Ten Verses, Popular New Testament Chapters, important New Testament Verses) and give information about memorization.
I really appreciated the appendix about popular New Testament chapters.
This is a fantastic resource, and I am accomplishing at least some memorization by using it. I do play to get my kids involved too, once we get back to school.

Unique and Important Bible Resource
Review byMelissa
One of the most important disciplines of our Christian faith is memorization. Unfortunately, it may very well by the least practiced. I sadly must confess it is not a discipline I have practiced as often as I should. For some people memorization comes easily, but I am not one of those people. I find memorization of anything difficult and tedious. Sadly our facts-in-an-instant society does not help any. We don't feel a need to memorize because we have such easy access to Scripture. Since this is the case, does it even matter? It does indeed!
The Memorization Study Bible by Thomas Meyer from New Leaf Publishing Group is truly a unique resource for effective memorization. I greatly appreciate how the author supports the importance of Scripture memorization with Scripture. Looking at both Old Testament and New Testament verses I was reminded of the commands given to early believers which should not go by the wayside. If I truly believe the Bible is as applicable today as it was when it was first written, I must abide by these same commands.
Thankfully this book doesn't merely state the need to memorize, but also gives resources to do so effectively! The author's own personal technique is clearly outlined in a usable way. This particular Bible does not appear as most do because it is intended to be used as a tool for memorization. It's unique layout intends to make the memorization techniques outlined easy to implement. The entire New Testament is broken down in small line segments in order to help aid your memory.
I especially like the introductory page for each book which gives a brief historical background, themes, and purposes. There are also several appendices which include passages with which to begin memorizing as well as the historical development and traditional memorization techniques of both the Jews and Christians. I found these sections to be particularly fascinating.
The only disappointment I had was that only one Bible version is available. Other than that, I think this is an incredible resource and highly recommend it as a unique and important study Bible.

Great for the Memory Challenged
Review byApril
Let me start by saying, I have an absolutely terrible memory. Terrible. One thing that I have always wanted to do is memorize scripture. But, for someone who frequently forgets why she walked into a room...memorizing scripture has never been something that came very easy for me. The Memorization Bible has a fairly simple method, a plan that makes it less overwhelming to begin to memorize scripture. Verse by verse. The whole bible is designed in a way to aid better memorization. Memorization is still a lot of work, but for me, using the methods in this memorization Bible, I am actually retaining the verses and memorizing them much faster than in the past. My 8-year-old daughter is also using the Bible and is memorizing scripture, as well. This is a fantastic resource for anyone wanting to memorize scripture.

Excellent Resource for KJV Memorization!
Review byTheresa
Lately it’s been on my heart to begin memorizing full chapters of Scripture, so I jumped at the opportunity to review this new Memorization Study Bible. My translation preference is not the KJV, so I debated about whether to consider this Bible. If you love the KJV I highly recommend this! If, like me, you have another favorite translation, this may not be much help. Although, I have to say, I’m so impressed with this Bible, I may decide to memorize from the KJV for the New Testament.
Memorization is still a lot of work, even with a special Bible! The author (who has memorized 20+ full books of the Bible without having a photographic memory!) suggests repetition in speaking and writing one verse at a time, while isolating it on the page. What makes this Bible unique is its special format. Words are specifically aligned on the page in a way that aids the memory process, and numbers are used to specify how many words per each line. This arrangement would be difficult to self-replicate with another version of the Bible unless you understood the pattern and had extra energy toward custom formatting.
I also appreciate that popular Scriptures are highlighted throughout, and enjoyed reading the appendices, which includes lists of short memory verses, sin to salvation verses, significant verses, popular NT chapters, memorizing techniques in Judaism and Christianity, and (my favorite) a fascinating summary of the historical development of Bible memorization, depicting the practices of many believers and scholars throughout history who memorized large portions of Scriptures.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Master Books.

Just what I've been looking for....
Review byNikki
As a homeschooling mom, I have mucked my way through various Bible curricula and whatnot - guilty of treating the Bible as a subject we must address - just like math or history. At some point during the middle of this last school year, I took a step back and realized I was going about this all wrong. I could almost feel God issue a sigh of relief.
This year, our study of the Bible will be intentional, and this resource will be an excellent and welcome addition.
Professor Meyer provides the science behind and clear instruction regarding memorization for long term recall, which is something I desperately desire for my daughter. Each chapter of the New Testament has a brief foreword, which provides interesting information regarding the chapter, including its author and its purpose (I LOVE this). Each verse is then broken down into his memorization formula. Lastly, there are several appendices including lists of verses for memorization and the historical development of Bible memorization.
I am so thankful that God orchestrated my finding of this resource. I am looking forward to using it in conjunction with a few other selections to create a meaningful and intentional Bible Study with my daughter this year.

Hide God’s Word in your heart
Review byHeather
Professor Thomas Meyer (AKA The Bible Man) has memorized multiple scripture passages and 20 complete books of the Bible; a feat made even more incredible when one realizes he does not have a photographic memory.
The Memorization Bible is the KJV of the New Testament. Mr. Meyer has organized verses to begin, where possible, with conjunctions or prepositions. There are brief, yet concise, directions explaining how to best memorize for long term memory storage. Emphasis is also placed on writing out the verses with a set number of words per line and incorporating both oral and written recitation. Devoting time and energy to this process is a given, but what a gift!
As I age, I feel less capable of memorizing anything significant, yet, this method gives me hope. As both a homeschool parent and Sunday school teacher, I want to memorize God’s Word alongside our children. I tape weekly verses on the window to review while washing dishes, cut strips of verses to use as bookmarks,...whatever will remind me. I look forward to trying this scientific method of memorization with myself, family, and Sunday School class. The best part is, it's another way to immerse oneself in God's Word and hide it in your heart.

A Fantastic Resource!
Review byCristina
I was once told that prayer is us speaking to God, and the Bible is God speaking to us. Given the weight of these words how could we not but devour every word uttered, and yet so few of us take the time to read Scripture, much less memorize it. Within The Memorization Study Bible: New Testament we are given encouragement and the tools necessary to achieve this much needed skill.
With a focus on sensory input and other unique techniques, Mr. Meyer shares helpful tips on gleaning the most from this amazing resource while reminding us of the necessity of memorizing the Bible. We are given a clear process by which to begin our journey and a breakdown of each book to be memorized.
I was highly impressed with the multitude of footnotes included in this resource, giving readers an opportunity to research for themselves the concepts presented in the book. I appreciate that readers are given the ability to move about this resource freely; selecting which verse, chapter, or Biblical book they would like to work through. Seven included Appendix are phenomenal assistants in helping to establish a routine for the purpose of memorization.
Whether being used for personal study or in a homeschool setting, this is definitely a fantastic resource you'll want at your fingertips.
