A book from “the Father of the Modern Creationism Movement,” this marvelous look at the author’s favorite book of the Bible gives the reader insights not commonly taught in the Church today. This devotional, focusing on the spiritual, physical, and scientific dimensions of the Psalms, starts with the conviction that the Bible is a supernaturally-transmitted collection of the books, with Psalms leading the parade of the world’s greatest literature. From the book’s definite nod to scientific concepts, to the groanings of King David, Treasures in the Psalms promises to be a gift beyond measure.

A Great Resource
Review byVirginia
Treasures in the Psalms by Dr. Henry Morris is a great resource for any Christian library. It includes an overview of the history of the Psalms as well as the structure of the Psalms. He covers roughly half of the Psalms in topical order, which is divided into 9 sections. My favorite section is part 2, the Prophecies of Christ in the Psalms. The text reads like a devotional-style commentary. I would certainly recommend this to any reader wanting to gain a better understanding of the Psalms.

A beautiful devotional for the book of Psalms
Review byKathleen C
A devotional to the book of Psalms which was Henry Morris’ favorite book of the Bible.
I love the insight that Henry Morris gives for the Psalms in this book. (this book does not include all of the Psalms) He helps you to gain of picture of who wrote the Psalm and what they may have been experiencing at the time.
The Psalms are grouped by theme. The Psalms speak of Creation, Jesus, and the return of our Lord. The book of Psalms includes blessings, encouragement, comfort, and joy for millions. This book will also be a blessing to all who read it.

The whole story of Scripture revealed in the Psalms!
Review byJoyfulMommy
This book does indeed reveal precious treasures in the Psalms as Dr. Morris powerfully and seamlessly weaves together the glories of the gospel from Old and New Testament while expounding the Psalms. Though this book contains only about half of the Psalms, the commentary on them still gave me new insight into the ones not discussed in this volume and a deeper appreciation of Scripture’s continuity. The chapters are arranged by category, not in the numerical order found in the book of Psalms.
The categories included are as follows:
Part I - The Message and Method in the Psalms
Part II - Prophecies of Christ in the Psalms
Part III - Events of the Second Coming
Part IV - Scientific Foregleams in the Psalms
Part V - The Songs of Degrees and the Christian Life
Part VI - Psalms of Comfort and Guidance (The Maschil Psalms)
Part VII - The Book-End Psalms
Part VIII - Psalms of Encouragement and Blessing (by Henry Morris III)
Part IX - The Psalms of the Redeemed
Typical of Dr. Morris’s writing, there are also interesting facts sprinkled throughout, highlighting patterns and numbers in the way the book, chapters, and verses come together. It’s also fascinating to read a creation scientist’s observations of how modern science is confirming truths that God had revealed thousands of years ago in the Psalms.
Read this book and let your understanding and praise soar to new levels for our Creator and Savior who is Himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life of Psalm 1. Rejoice that He is our continual Refuge and Strength as we are engaged in a spiritual battle between God’s Way and man’s way, while anticipating the coming glorious consummation with His bride described in Psalm 45! Praise ye the Lord!

A great study/devotional book
Review byLynette
This is such a wonderful book. I’m an avid reader and honestly expected to be able to blow right through this study. Boy was I fooled. There is so much richness found in the book of Psalms and Henry Morris does a fantastic job (as always) of making sure his readers understand Biblical truth. This is not a study of the whole book of Psalms but only a portion. What it does go over is pretty meaty stuff. At one point I found myself tearing up with gratitude for finally understanding something I had personally been struggling with. I recommend this book for older teens and adult. Definitely pull out a notebook or journal when you go through this book. There is so much to take away from it. I have the pdf version and definitely recommend getting the physical copy if you like to highlight and underline in your books.

Great Wisdom about the Psalms
Review byKristy
Henry Morris was such an amazing man of God. His book, Treasures in the Psalms, is completely inspired by God. He helps explain the Psalms in a way that any Christian (whether new or been one for many years) can understand. The book is small but packed full of incredible commentary on every single Psalm.
He goes through all the Psalms and tells who wrote it, even if it is an anonymous author. He tells why it might have been written and gives details about the words and language used.
This book is truly a treasure for anyone who loves the Psalms and wants to learn more about them. His explanations are clear and are inspired by God. His writing is easy to understand and you can tell that he loves the Lord and the Bible. The book is broken up into nine sections. Each section contains certain chapters of the Psalms. The layout is great because it doesn't feel so overwhelming.
This is a great Bible study for the whole family!

Treasure it is!
Review byMichele
Some Psalms can be a little confusing and I was hoping this would help explain some of the questions I had about particular verses. And that it did. It is beautifully written as it breaks the verses out in chunks and verse by verse. It references other scriptures thru-out, points out certain Hebrew words and their meanings, and tells you the author of the Psalm, if known. Not every Psalm is discussed in this book but quite a few are, for example Psalm 23 "The Shephard and His Sheep" and Psalm 90 "The Days of Our Year". Each Psalm discussed has a title, so if your needing encouragement about hope, you can look thru the Contents and find "Psalm 131 Hope in the Lord" or needing rest, "Psalm 125 Faith and Rest" and go straight to the chapter, no need to read them in order. It's a bit longer than your usual devotional, but it makes for great discussion with friends or family, or great quiet time with God yourself. This book uses the King James translation.

Great Commentary!
Review byCrystal
Treasures in the Psalms is an excellent commentary to use with the book of Psalms. The author, Henry Morris, was a great apologist and Biblical creationist. His passion to show the truth of God’s word shines through in this work. The commentary is well researched and thought provoking. The author provides cultural clues, cross references, and general explanations as he works verse by verse through the psalm. As an aside, there are a couple things worth mentioning based on personal preference. First, the author uses KJV references throughout to highlight the poetic nature of the psalms. Second, only about half the psalms are covered in this volume. I really enjoyed this commentary and am glad to have it in my collection!

great study!
Review bySara
I was really excited to find a book by Henry Morris on the Psalms! I have yet to do an in-depth study on this book of the Bible, so I was eager to get to reading because I knew this would be a great resource being from Henry Morris. The first few pages were so impactful just in the amount of general information I had gleaned which was a great foreteller of what was to come. The themes and structure of the book of psalms is laid out and the book really then begins with a clear verse by verse breakdown of each psalm that falls into the themed categories. It is true, each psalm is not included in this book but I do not think that took away from the amount of information that was in this! I definitely have a better understanding of the psalms and their relevance, and have applicational knowledge for my life. This was so in-depth I know I am going to be going back through it again to really digest everything and share with others.

A fantastic resource!
Review byShannon
I wish I had this in print! I got the digital copy and it is a fantastic resource for your study of the Psalms! Only about half of the psalms are in this book but WOW the author really breaks them down and gives so much insight! Each Psalm is almost a line by line breakdown bringing in knowledge from both the Old and New Testaments. Worth its weight in gold for your study of the Psalms.
