The only thing that I would change about this book is the title. While Dr. Lisle uses the interpretation of Genesis as the majority of his examples, this book will give you the tools to analyze, interpret, and defend all of Scripture. Dr. Lisle writes with knowledge and authority, but in a readable manner. He is clear and instructive and his love and reverence for God and the Scripture are evident. This book is a must-read for any Christian who wants to better understand the Word of God.

A precise, thorough tool that will help people to correctly think about, understand & interpret the Scriptures,especially the foundational ones. It challenges Christians to critically think about the reason why they believe what they believe & to evaluate their position on the authority of the Word of God in their lives & then in turn help them to be able defend the Bible against false & error-filled reasoning. It causes one to realize the truth of (see) Deuteronomy 30:11-14...that God as the Author of the Bible would clearly reveal His intentions to us through clear communication & that any misunderstanding would be on the part of the reader.
It equips us with confidence to do as 2 Timothy 3:24-26 says, “The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him, to do his will.”
Truly, our correct understanding & obedience of the Scriptures is a life & death matter that will shape our eternity!
