Hidden Gem of MB!
Review byLauren
This book is one of the many hidden gems of Master Books. I had seen someone ask for a book with pirates and this was suggested so I purchased it and my family loves it. The pictures are very colorful and well done. The pages are nice and thick so they don't tear easily and the story is told a lot like most of Buddy Davis stories are told. With truth but also lots of fun and adventure. Great pick!

Long but engaging.
Review byMayrla
This beautifully illustrated picture book is a win with any child.
I was amazed how it kept my 4 yrs old son and 7 yrs old daughter together engaged until the end and it’s not some shallow way to talk about Jonah.
We loved it!

Gorgeous and Fun
Review byCala
Gorgeously illustrated and large book retelling the Jonah's story from a pirate's point of view. The quality of the book itself is amazing. As always with MB, the Gospel is made incredible clear and accessible to the intended age range. My 6 y.o. enjoys listening to this story. It is a little long for this age, but my son likes long books!

Loved it!
Review byYulia
It has a great twist to a Jonah story in the presentation. It is not a small book, there is lots to read, but 5 yo was so interested, he listened til almost the end of the story (left only 3 pages for the next day). Overall, it seemed like the Jonas' story became redundant to him, but this book refreshed it for him for sure. I like how Buddy Davis uses a Christian pirate to tell the story and connects the story of Jonas with Jesus and salvation. I like how he explains some terms to a younger crowd. Beautiful book and pictures. Satisfied!

Great Picture Book
Review byDanielle
This is such a great book with a fun story woven into the account of Jonah and God's dealings with him. The pictures are great and my kids love Buddy Davis. I love having resources that my 7yo can pick up and read and not only do I not need to worry about the content, but the content is edifying and teaching great things! Thank you Master Books!

What a vivid story!
Review byNichole
We loved reading this story yesterday while my son wasn't feeling 100%. It is a really neat narrative book. The narrator is a sea captain telling his crew about the story of Jonah and the whale. It is incredibly captivating especially for an eight year old boy.

Yay for a Master Books Picture Book!
Review byKarie
I went searching for picture books in the MB catalog and was delighted to find this one in time for our study of Jonah. Everything you love about MB curriculum books (high quality pages, pictures and content) is in this book, too. It's a re-telling of the Jonah narrative by another ship captain. I only wish MB would start producing more picture books like this. I'd love to have fiction library to go along with our educational one!
