I am so excited for the release of World Geography & Cultures! Looking ahead to my oldest entering 9th grade soon, I decided to nab this early in order to get a good look at it before she would start it!

The Student Text for World Geography & Cultures is written directly to the student in a clear, engaging voice. Rather than emphasizing memorization of capitals, mountain ranges, or isolated facts, the text consistently points students toward understanding how geography, culture, history, economy, and belief systems all fit together.

The pages are organized and filled with full color pictures and helpful charts. Key words are highlighted throughout, making them easy to locate and reference during assignments.

I loved the inclusion of prayer points on days when students read about the religions of various countries. I believe this is an excellent course choice for families looking for a meaningful, thorough, and flexible geography credit from a biblical worldview.

I'm not sure about you, but I personally feel there are so many good options for curriculum out there for almost every subject......except geography. Everything I've looked into in the past is dry and boring, and after the first week or two, it becomes a chore to teach and my children just don't enjoy this. World Geography and Cultures surprised me from the second I cracked it open. The graphics and pictures on the text's pages feel exciting and make you want to read. The use of text boxes throughout the text really help break up the reading and make it easier to keep reading along. I really enjoyed the religion section as it helps open a discussion about oother religions, and the book includes prayers for those in other religions. The student book is far from dry. I felt that it was a lot more hands on and not just simple matching or plain answers. It allows the student to get their feeling across about the area as well when they have writing prompts. The answer key is also included it the student text.

When you think of world geography, do you think of gospel advance? More than that, do you think of how YOU fit into God’s plan of gospel advance across the globe?

This is not a boring textbook about latitude and longitude, climates, etc. While you will learn map skills and study forms of government, cultures, languages, economy, and more, the heart of the curriculum is about God being glorified in every area - literally!

With each page of vivid photography, maps, charts, and descriptions, it’s like you get to go on a virtual adventure across the globe seeing how God is and has been at work from the very beginning of creation providing for His creatures both physically and spiritually. You will see how sin has marred creation, how the flood impacted the whole geography of the world, and how the language confusion at Babel dispersed people groups geographically (and thus why there is a great need for Bible translators!). And you will have immediate application to what you learn as you are encouraged to pray specifically for the various prayer points for each region.

This book also shows you how practical geography is - for instance, how much the natural resources and climate shape a nation and culture. And I found it fascinating to think how geography shaped the road system and trade routes for the good news of the gospel to travel rapidly.

This course is not just about facts, it is about souls - both the souls of people around the world, and especially the soul of each student who studies this material. Consider this quote: “Throughout this course, you will see charts that show the religious makeup of each country. These numbers are not just statistics; they represent people. Every percentage is a group of souls who need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. As you learn about their beliefs and their needs, ask God how He might use you to pray, care, and maybe even go. Beautiful photos and a great layout make this engaging to read. Overviews of entire continents and their countries, maps, timelines, information about geographic terms and events, and pages about people groups and prayer points to follow are included in this book. Your child will learn an overview of the world and have a good understanding of people and places God made.

As soon as she saw this, my soon-to-be 9th grader immediately asked to add this to her courses for the coming school year. She started looking through it and said that it looks very interesting and like something that will keep her attention and deepen her knowledge of geography and cultures across the globe.
It really is a beautiful book. I’ve struggled with geography books in the past because so many of them are simply lists of numbers and dates, and frankly, most of them are boring. This book is so much more than that, and it is anything but boring. While it does include the necessary things like map-reading skills, it also includes information about weather, people, cultures, topography, animal life, economics, governments, and (to quote the author), “how the world fits together.”
The beginning sets a solid foundation for understanding geography from a biblical worldview and understanding how the catastrophic event of the flood of Noah’s day dramatically changed the face of the planet. In this same section (one that may need to be referred to more than once), the basics of map reading and the differences in types of maps are covered. An overview of types of governments and other definitions are also included. It gives a detailed, but not overwhelming overview of these topics.
I feel like this book takes the reader on a journey to discover the beauty of the world God created, and it helps us to understand that there are some serious consequences to our sin. It is colorful and engaging with stunning photos and helpful illustrations. I really appreciate the spreadsheet type charts that organize the facts in a simple manner. The facts are presented in a way that makes sense and ties the information together. The authors help show the connections between the locations, natural resources, and economies and exports, as well as governments and cultures. The topic of various religions is covered in a respectful manner without deviating from biblical truths. The Thank-Pray-Ask-Pray sections are a beautiful reminder to give glory to God for His beautiful creation and to pray for our fellow humans, created in His image across the globe.
The worksheets are not just busy work. They are helpful in reinforcing the material without being overwhelming. There are also optional activities, including art projects or watching a video. I think this is helpful to reach a variety of learning styles. Every 5th day is a review of the week. In the front of the teacher guide is a schedule, and in the back there is an answer key and a variety of maps. It is a well-organized and well-written course.
I am so excited to share this course with my daughter. I’m looking forward to the wonderful things we are going to learn together and the amazing discussions that we will have as we learn. I think this is an excellent course for high school students (and parents, too), especially those who feel called to missions.

The new geography course is wonderful. It's biblically based, very informative and hands on. The course is easy to read and understand. It's also is engaging. The textbook provides great pictures and colorful maps. I love everything about it.

I am very picky when it comes to a geography curriculum and I am loving this course!
To start with, I am not a fan of books that say this is where this country is, the capital, and the population. That tells me nothing about the country. What I love about this course is how it goes into the GDP, religions, governmental rule and landscape of each country. Not only does it show the topography and the weather, but how that effects the residents, crop growth, travel, and how it all effects the culture. The teachers guide adds to all the information. There are fill in the blank and multiple choice questions, but also critical thinking questions and multiple options with a blank for the parent/teacher to choose which extra bit of research is done about each country, as well as, when it is due. That is flexible for the overachieving student, but can be easily modified for the struggling student.
The student reader is full of information in addition to tons of full color pictures of each country, the land and the people. It is a book worth to have on the shelf. ( It is worth to have the physical book over the PDF, when possible.)
I enjoyed reading the student book, but the Teacher Guide adds to the depth of the course for the student to learn beyond the pages.
