Engaging History
Review bySarahT
Master Books World History is an engaging study of the world from a biblical perspective. Although the worksheets do not line up word for word with the text, they allow students to think about what they have learned and apply their own knowledge. Quarterly exams and timelines help students test their knowledge of the course. The companion So Noted! is an in-depth commentary written by Dr. Henry Morris on the book of Genesis. This book is used alongside the high-school level of World History in weekly assignments. Overall, great course that keeps in line with earlier history courses from Master Books!

Wonderful High School World History Course
Review byKathleen C
Student Book
This is a great high school-level World History course. My son and I both liked the way it is written. Every lesson is engaging and thought-provoking. I especially like the start of each chapter. You are given a chapter overview and a list of things the reader should be able to discuss, analyze & reflect on by the end of the chapter. I also like the highlighted boxes which pull out key vocabulary or important facts. The use of original book excerpts, speeches, passages, and quotes was a great addition. There are beautiful colorful pictures in this book—they help to bring each topic to life. More than anything, I feel that this course has prepared my son to be able to understand and comfortably discuss the history of our world. *This book uses the same format as the American History student book which was nice to see.
Teacher Guide:
Includes 36 weekly schedules, Activity Sheets for each chapter, Answer Keys for activity sheets and reviews, a comparative worldview chart, and a detailed World History Timeline and
We like the variety in the activity sheets between True/False, Multiple Choice, Matching, Short Answers, and essay
This course is written for a 10-12th-grade child to do independently. There are thorough directions that guide them through each lesson.

Set
This book is great to use as a deep study into the book of Genesis which is the book of the Bible that receives the most attack for its integrity and authority. This book includes room on each page for extra notes. I like all the extra resources in the appendix. My favorite resource is the chart that shows the Genesis reference to a New Testament quote.

World History Course
Review byBecky V.
The World History course is an excellent history course for your upper high-school student (10th-12th grade). It is a one-year course (36 weeks) that will earn your student 1 credit. Time investment is about 30-45 minutes per day, five days a week.
This course covers world history with a Christian worldview starting at Creation and following through into the early 21st century. The student text is split into 36 chapters, and each chapter is split into the daily corresponding lesson. The text is just beautifully put together, easy to read, written for easy understanding, and the pictures and graphics are bright and vivid. Each chapter gives an overview, objectives, and key people and places.
History can be a hard subject to study, but the author has written this text with an approach of “an unfolding of God’s plan for the world,” and it really is just an excellent and fascinating course to go through!
The Teacher Guide is direct and to the point. It easily guides you to lead your student through this amazing course. This course is developed for the student to complete independently, other than parent/teacher evaluation of assignments and exams.
The Teacher Guide includes everything needed to complete this course successfully. It includes a suggested weekly schedule, as well as all of the daily worksheets, worldview assignments (day 5 of each week), and the four quarterly exams. Answer keys are included in the back of the Teacher Guide for easy evaluation.
All assignments are appropriate for the grade level this course is meant for. They are varied in activity each day and check for understanding of the text.
So Noted! is an in-depth commentary written by Dr. Henry Morris on the book of Genesis - it is the complete excerpt from The Henry Morris Study Bible. This book is used alongside the high-school level of World History in weekly assignments. History begins at Creation, begins in Genesis, and I love that there is such an emphasis on understanding the book of Genesis throughout the study of the World History course, and building a solid foundation to help develop a strong biblical worldview.

World History Set
Review byLacee
From the beginning of time to early 21st century, students will travel through 36 chapters learning about the history of our world from a Christian Worldview. I love how easy this book is to navigate. Each chapter is broken up into 5 lessons. Each chapter starts with an overview of the chapter, key points readers should know after reading the chapter, and key people, places and principles. Each chapter is well thought-out and easy to read, and includes vibrant pictures and a map. The back of the book includes a glossary, forms of government and their definitions, and a comparative worldviews chart. In the Teacher Guide, you will find a schedule to follow as well as daily worksheets. Because this is a High School level course, the worksheets are set up slightly different than elementary level guides, meaning most worksheets can be used as a quiz or for points or grades. This World History Teacher Guide also includes quarterly exams, a History Timeline and a comparative world views chart which I find helpful. So Noted is also used in this set. So Noted is a commentary of Genesis from the Henry Morris Study Bible. It is an exhaustive commentary giving the reader a true understanding of the book of Genesis which is foundational to understanding God’s Word.

History from a Biblical Worldview
Review byDustie
History has always been a subject that I enjoyed, but I can honestly say that many history textbooks books I’ve seen are really dull. This is a pleasant exception. It seems like a natural progression from Angela O’Dell’s World’s Story (which is also a very enjoyable read). It is thorough without being overwhelming or boring. It is written in an engaging style, and it is broken apart in very digestible portions for daily assignments. The assignments and exams seem to follow the text. One of the features I appreciate is the box at the beginning of each chapter that contains the topics that the student should be able to discuss after reading. This is really helpful in promoting independence for the high school student. The addition of So Noted is a really neat way to set a proper foundation for studying world history. What a great course to help solidify the student’s comprehension of the history of our world, as well as their worldview.
As a side note, there is an academy course that supplements this course with videos for 4 out of 5 days each week.

Bringing History to Life
Review byLexie
I will be the first to admit, I never enjoyed history in school growing up. I found it so dry and boring. Honestly, I thought this would be my least favorite subject to teach my children. Masterbooks history has repeatedly changed my mind in that department with their history curriculum. I found this to be the case with their elementary curriculum, but I was curious to know how it would be in high school. My daughter is in 10th grade, and we thought this curriculum would be a good fit for her to get her high school world history credit. I was very surprised to see how they brought forth high school level teaching, while still making history come alive. The Bible is such an important part of history, and we only felt it appropriate to teach history from a young earth perspective, which this curriculum does. Each section is taught from a Biblical perspective. The curriculum starts in the beginning with creation and goes through modern times (even covering Sept. 11). Colorful pictures capture the student (and parent reading too). There are daily questions in the teacher's guide to go along with each lesson. I highly recommend this curriculum for parents looking for a Biblically solid high school history curriculum.

Very frustrating!
Review byGD
The worksheets and tests do NOT match the book. Studying for them is impossible. There should be study guides in the Teacher's Books to help our children be prepared for tests that span several chapters (quarter/semester tests). The number of times my oldest has complained about not finding the answer in the book for the quiz and mind blowing. It's either the book itself or whoever wrote the quiz/test. I am not considering to reuse this for my younger children until this is re-written. The books written by Angela O'Dell were so easy to use. If only she had written High School Level as well.

Nearly Unusable
Review byJeff
I am not sure if it is the Text or the worksheets that are the issue. The questions on the worksheets are not directly answered in the text. You have to make some assumptions and speculations to arrive at some of their answers.
Either the Text needs a complete revision, or the worksheets do. The questions seem like reasonable questions for a High School Curriculum, but without the proper information in the text it is difficult to answer them.
