Excellent Course!
Review by Becky V.
The World History course is an excellent history course for your upper high-school student (10th-12th grade). It is a one-year course (36 weeks) that will earn your student 1 credit. Time investment is about 30-45 minutes per day, five days a week.

The Teacher Guide is direct and to the point. It easily guides you to lead your student through this amazing course. This course is developed for the student to complete independently, other than parent/teacher evaluation of assignments and exams.

The Teacher Guide includes everything needed to complete this course successfully. It includes a suggested weekly schedule, as well as all of the daily worksheets, worldview assignments (day 5 of each week), and the four quarterly exams. Answer keys are included in the back of the Teacher Guide for easy evaluation.

All assignments are appropriate for the grade level this course is meant for. They are varied in activity each day and check for understanding of the text..
great teacher guide to go with an amazing course!

I cannot say enough! This is the teacher's guide for the World History course so be sure to buy the whole set, if you do not have it! First assignment right off the bat goes over how your student will be reading through Genesis and its commentary during the course to lay a biblical foundation for your child. Day 5’s assignment is to read scripture and commentary and take notes. Another important skill I think this course develops within your child as they progress. The course text book is great, full of color, chapter overviews and what information your child should have been able to glean from each chapter for discussions. Honestly, I can grab any “history book” and teach my child the facts of the world, but to teach them to see things from the lens of our Creator and the gospel- that makes this course SUCH a winner. Your child will not only be learning word history, but they will gain a deeper understanding of Genesis, the beginning of time and most importantly, our Creator.
Teacher Guide

Like all other Master Books Teacher Guides, you will find a schedule to follow as well as daily worksheets. Because this is a High School level course, the worksheets are set up slightly different than elementary level guides, meaning most worksheets can be used as a quiz or for points/grades. This World History Teacher Guide also includes quarterly exams, a History Timeline and a comparative world views chart which I find helpful.
History from a Biblical Worldview
Review by Dustie
MasterBooks does such a great job with the teacher guides. This one follows the organized fashion of other courses we’ve used. It has the schedule in the front, followed by worksheets, exams, and answer keys. The worksheets seem to follow the text and reinforce the material that was covered. They are appropriate for high school level students, but they’re not overwhelming or what I’d consider busy work.

Bringing History to Life
Review by Lexie
I will be the first to admit, I never enjoyed history in school growing up. I found it so dry and boring. Honestly, I thought this would be my least favorite subject to teach my children. Masterbooks history has repeatedly changed my mind in that department with their history curriculum. I found this to be the case with their elementary curriculum, but I was curious to know how it would be in high school. My daughter is in 10th grade, and we thought this curriculum would be a good fit for her to get her high school world history credit. I was very surprised to see how they brought forth high school level teaching, while still making history come alive. The Bible is such an important part of history, and we only felt it appropriate to teach history from a young earth perspective, which this curriculum does. Each section is taught from a Biblical perspective. The curriculum starts in the beginning with creation and goes through modern times (even covering Sept. 11). Colorful pictures capture the student (and parent reading too). There are daily questions in the teacher's guide to go along with each lesson. I highly recommend this curriculum for parents looking for a Biblically solid high school history curriculum.
